We’re also starting to see a flurry of commitments as many players want to end their recruitment and focus on the rest of their high school football career. Over the weekend we saw two quarterbacks come off the board and make their college decisions public.
One QB who made his decision over the weekend was Collins Hill gunslinger, Sam Horn Sam Horn 6'4" | 190 lbs | QB Collins Hill | 2022 State GA . Ranked as one of the top overall 2022 QBs in the country, the 6-foot-4 190-pounder looks like Ryan Mallet in the pocket with his long arms and ability to sling the ball down the field. He enjoys pushing the ball and throws a very accurate, catchable deep ball. He moves well in the pocket for his size and shows above-average athleticism as well. He does a great job of escaping pressure while keeping his eyes downfield.
Horn saw his recruitment take off after an impressive sophomore season where he threw for over 2,300 yards and 22 touchdowns. That’s impressive for any sophomore, but even more impressive considering the teams and defenses that Hill had to go up against at such an early age. The Eagles play in one of the toughest regions in the state and battle against some of the top overall talent around.
Hill’s name was starting to gain some steam across the country after the 2019 season, but his junior season is where he rose the ranks and became one of the top pro-style passers in the nation. As a junior last season, Horn threw for over 3,900 yards and 41 touchdowns. While he was able to throw to Travis Hunter Travis Hunter 6'1" | 165 lbs | ATH Collins Hill | 2022 State GA , the state’s top-prospect, all year long, Horn still showed the ability to make plays on his own. He’s mechanically sound, has a high football IQ, and shows accuracy all across the field.
After earning offers from Florida, Tennessee, FSU, West Virginia, among others, Horn decided to take his talents to Missouri and play for the Tigers in the SEC East. The Missouri program had first-round pick Drew Lock come through the program recently so they are no stranger to good QB play, so Horn should come in and continue that tradition.

Not only will Horn play QB at Missouri, but he’ll also play baseball for the Tigers. The two-sport star was pursued by many, so this is an outstanding pickup for a school trying to climb the ranks in the SEC both on the gridiron and on the diamond.
Another in-state QB who made his commitment was Cartersville’s Stratton Tripp. The ’Canes standout came after two of the best in program history in Trevor Lawrence and Tee Webb, and now Tripp will be playing in college as well, at Georgia State.
The 6-foot-2 190-pounder saw Florida signee Carlos Del Rio Carlos Del Rio 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB Grayson | 2021 State GA take over at the end of the season as the Canes pushed for another state championship, but that doesn’t mean Tripp can’t play at the next level. He’s mobile, has a quick release, and showed accuracy when he was the signal caller at Cartersville. He was coached by one of the state’s best QB trainers and now has an opportunity to play for the local program in Atlanta.
