Welcome to the FIRST episode of the Twitter Mania Series. This series is going to take place each week where I’ll be taking the first 15 athletes to comment their film on the Twitter Mania post. We have athletes from all over, ranging from IL down to GA and out east towards WV. Keep an eye on Twitter Mania, it will come out each week moving forward. Enough talk, let’s get into the FIRST episode of Twitter Mania.
Naz Easter 22’ DB 6’1 177 Troup County HS (GA) Twitter Highlights Starting out we’re heading out to GA to take a look at Naz Easter from Troup County HS. Easter gets it done in both the run and pass defense, he’s able to make open-field tackles by attacking downhill and stays with his man in coverage causing incompletions. His closing speed comes to light when he attacks downhill by flying to the ballcarrier and getting off the block to make the tackle. In pass coverage, he’s able to react to the ball and deliver a hard hit forcing an incompletion. He currently plays a mixture of CB & S, I can also see him moving to LB at the next level. Overall, Easter will be a good pick-up for any program at the next level and is going to be a player that makes an immediate impact on the program. [player_tooltip player_id="33995" first="Drake" last="Hatcher"] 22’ G 6’2 280 McEachern HS (GA) Twitter Highlights Keeping the GA trend going we’re taking a look at [player_tooltip player_id="33995" first="Drake" last="Hatcher"], he’s a 6’2 280 G from McEachern HS. At G he creates running lanes when he pulls and blocks in open space. He keeps his feet driving and plays through the whistle which results in pancaking the defender. In the run game, he washes the d-line down and in the passing game, he stays squared neutralizing the pass rush. Overall, Hatcher has room to develop and hone his craft before his high school career is over. Look for him to improve and increase the attention in his recruiting process. Prince Seymour 22’ T/G 6’4 311 East Coweta HS (GA) Twitter Highlights Finishing the GA train, we’re headed to East Coweta HS to see Prince Seymour a 22’ T/G who stands at 6’4 311. Seymour is able to create running lanes both when pulling and when drive blocking. When he pulls he’s able to keep his head on a swivel making those blocks in open space, when he drive blocks he keeps his feet moving which results in pancaking the defender. Seymour plays through the whistle, washes the d-line down, and stays square during pass protection. Overall, once he gets his name out there his recruiting profile is going to increase as he’s not getting the attention that he deserves. Tristan Moctezuma 22’ T/DT 6’3 272 Sheboygan Lutheran HS (WI) Twitter Highlights Next up is Tristan Moctezuma from Sheboygan Lutheran HS in WI. Moctezuma has the size to play at the next level standing at 6’3 272. He does the dirty work in the trenches by washing down the d-line, keeping his feet driving to create running lanes, and plays through the whistle. With further development and honing his craft, he can be a good option at OT on the next level. Eddie Kasper 22’ WR 5’10 160 *Transferring* (WI) Twitter Highlights Continuing with the WI trend, up next is Eddie Kasper. He’s currently in the process of looking for a new school to attend. He doesn’t have any live game film but does have 7 on 7 film. In this, he shows quick feet when he’s pressed, stacks the defender breaking at the top of the route to create separation, and gets upfield once he secures the catch. He needs game film to get a better insight on how he plays with pads on, this is a good starting point. [player_tooltip player_id="104377" first="Mason" last="Desrude"] 23’ DE 6’2 215 Nicolet HS (WI) Twitter Highlights Desrude is a younger player from Nicolet HS in WI, he stands at 6’2 215 as a sophomore. He already causes problems on the defensive line for opposing offenses. Desrude gets it done both in run support and in the pass rush. He gets pressure on the QB by shedding the block and being quick off the LOS. Desrude also fills gaps in run support and takes pursuit angels to make the tackle downfield with his closing speed. Overall, he still has room to hone his craft, and once he does look for his name to be on coach’s radars. James Williams 22’ RB 5’10 180 Evergreen Park HS (IL) Twitter Highlights Next up is James Williams from Evergreen Park HS in IL. Williams is a workhorse at RB, he’s an N/S runner that can also mix in the E/W running style. He uses his acceleration to burst through the running lanes, fights for extra yards and breaks arm tackles. In the passing game, he’s able to catch coming out of the backfield. Once he plants his foot into the ground he goes and isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder when he’s full steam ahead. Overall, Williams gets it done in both the running and passing attack. Expect him to have another good season this spring and for his recruitment to gain momentum once he gets the updated film. Devin Turner 22’ QB 5’9 180 Evergreen Park HS (IL) Twitter Highlights We got the RB now let’s talk about the QB, Devin Turner from Evergreen Park HS in IL. He’s a mobile QB that runs the read-option where he fights for extra yards. Turner goes through his progressions and finds the next man open downfield if his first read isn’t open, in doing so, he’s able to put zip on the ball to get the ball into the receiver’s hands. He runs RPO’s and in doing so he makes the right reads getting the ball out fast. Turner is also able to throw on the run on rollout passes and has the pocket footwork to go with it. Overall, Turner is in the same boat as many IL players, he needs this spring film to enhance his recruiting process and showcase how he’s developed with having extended time away from the game. Tyler Wilms 22’ T/DT 5’11 215 Lemont HS (IL) Twitter Highlights Next up we’re heading out to Lemont HS in IL to look at Tyler Wilms, 22’ T/DT standing at 5’11 215. At DT, he shoots the gaps, gets pressure on the QB, and gets off of blocks to make the tackle. He also gets into the backfield disrupting the play and makes the tackle downfield by taking pursuit angles. At T, Wilms is aggressive and attacks. He washes the d-line, gets hands-on quickly, and gets to the 2nd level blocks. He also plays through the whistle whether that’s pulling to block in open space or drive blocking, both result in pancaking the defender. Overall, Wilms is on a talented Lemont team which will help him get his name out there this coming spring season. He’s been putting in the work during this extended off-season and it’ll be a sight to see it pay off when the pads come on. Jaden Bossie 23’ RB 5’10 165 Mount Carmel HS (IL) Twitter Highlights We’re rewinding it back to dive back into the RB position in Jaden Bossie, a 23’ from Mount Carmel HS in IL standing at 5’10 165. He’s an N/S runner that utilizes his change of direction, jump cuts, and quick acceleration to burst through the line of scrimmage. He plays through contact, can see cutback lanes, and is a playmaker for his team. Bossie is already catching the attention of D1 programs, with further development and honing his skills the sky is the limit for Bossie. Expect him to build upon last season’s performance come the spring season. Javon Criswell 23’ WR/CB 5’10 150 Bishop McNarma HS (IL) Twitter Highlights On deck we have Javon Criswell from Bishop McNamara HS in IL, he’s a WR/CB standing at 5’10 150. At receiver, he makes contested catches, catch in traffic, and once he secures the catch he plants his foot to turn upfield. He also has quick acceleration and blocks downfield in the run game. His acceleration comes to light in the return game where he reads his blocks and has the vision to see cutback lanes. At corner, he stays with his man in coverage, makes open-field tackles, and jumps routes resulting in deflected passes. Overall, Criswell has room to develop over the next few seasons and hone his craft as he’s a name to keep an eye on. Jordan Medrano 21’ MLB 6’1 200 Riverside Brookfield HS (IL) Twitter Highlights Continuing this IL trend let's head to Riverside Brookfield HS to take a look at Jordan Medrano, a 21' MLB standing at 6'1 200. He fills holes in run support, makes open-field tackles, and meets the RB at the point of attack stuffing the run. He's quick off the LOS which helps him get pressure on the QB and takes pursuit angles to make the tackle downfield. Medrano is looking forward to this spring season here in IL to showcase his improvement from last season and to bump up his recruiting as well. Payton Young 23’ RB 5’11 200 Merriville HS (IN) Twitter Highlights Enough with the IL talk, let's go to the sister state of IN to take a look at Payton Young from Merriville HS. Young plays RB and stands at 5'11 200, he played his freshman year in IL at Brother Rice HS and transferred out to Merriville the following season. Young's skill set speaks for itself, he's an N/S runner that has quick acceleration to burst through the running lanes and breaks arm tackles. Young can also catch out of the backfield and once he secures the catch he gets upfield where he breaks arm tackles by lowering his shoulder and utilizing jump cuts. In the film, Young is playing at his own speed and was dominant in both the run and pass attack. Overall, if you're a college coach put Payton Young on your radar as he's going to become a name to know as he continues to develop and hone his craft. Case Landis 22’ RB/DE 6’0 217 Tyler Consolidated HS (WV) Twitter Highlights Taking a trip out east we're headed to Tyler Consolidated HS in WV to take a look at Case Landis a 22' RB/DE standing at 6'0 217. At running back, he's an N/S runner with quick acceleration that plays through contact and breaks arm tackles. At DE, he gets pressure on the QB, is a hard hitter, and uses his closing speed to make open-field tackles. Overall, Landis still has room to develop and has the potential to play at the next level. Sam Conyers 22’ G 6’3 335 Berker HS (TX) Twitter Highlights To finish it off we're headed way down south to Berker HS in TX to take a look at Sam Conyers a 22' G standing at 6'3 335. Now, Conyers didn't have the longest highlight film BUT in it, he showcases playing through the whistle, his strength by throwing guys around, and being able to pancake players when pulling. The biggest thing for Conyers is once he's able to become more agile and quick he'll see his recruiting take off. He has the size and strength, just needs quickness and agility to go with it.
Thank you for being apart of EP. 1 of Twitter Mania, I look forward to producing this article out every week for the athletes on Twitter that follow me. If you want to be in the next Twitter Mania article, be sure to keep an eye out for the tweet stating this is for Twitter Mania.
