Daiquan White Daiquan White 5'10" | 160 lbs | DB Creekside | 2023 State GA – Creekside
Down in Fairburn is where you’ll find one of the top overall cover-corners in the Atlanta area. The athletic 5-foot-10 160-pounder has a long frame to him with quickness and impressive footwork. He’ll still have to add some more weight and muscle, but White is just the newest defensive back who comes out of Creekside, a program that develops defensive backs as well as any across thee state. Not only does he have natural cover instincts, but he has college-level ball skills and plays physical as well. He can hold his own on the outside against the run and knows how to get off tackles. He’s a quick cover corner already, but as he continues to get bigger while developing his craft as a cornerback, White could see some major offers come his way. White currently holds a handful of impressive offers including ones from Arkansas, Boston College, Florida State, and Georgia Tech.
Johnsley Barbas – Centennial
Up in the north suburbs of Atlanta is where you’ll find a possible breakout star in 2021. That would be Centennial DB Johnsley Barbas. The 5-foot-11 170-pounder is a versatile defender who could line up at multiple positions in the secondary. He’s long and quick enough to cover speedy receivers from the slot, but he also plays bigger than his size and knows how to cover bigger TEs over the middle as well. He reacts quickly against the run and knows how to deliver a hit once he meets the ball carrier in the backfield. He’s a fluid athlete who found a way to make plays as a sophomore last season in a tough region in north Fulton County. He may not be the biggest or flashes defensive back, but he does his job well and appears to have a bright future after a successful sophomore season. Barbas currently holds offers from East Carolina and Kent State but should see more coming his way down the road, especially is he steps up his play as a junior this fall.
Kaleb Cost Kaleb Cost 5'8" | 159 lbs | DB Sandy Creek | 2023 State GA – Sandy Creek
Southeast of Atlanta is where you’ll find another playmaking defensive back in Cost. The 6-foot-0 180-pounder from Tyrone has some of the best ball skills you’ll find from any defensive back in the region and was one of the top 2023 defenders across the metro-Atlanta area last season. He’s long, athletic, and knows how to make a play on the football. Cost can also line up in the middle of the field at safety and has no problem laying out a big hit on a receiver trying to come across the middle. Cost is also one of the top overall athletes in the region and can. line up at receiver when needed. Cost shows great burst with the ball in his hands and was consistently one of the biggest playmakers on the field last season. Even as a sophomore, Cost showed that he easily had D1 potential with his physical play, his frame, and his ball skills. Expect Cost to be one of the top overall defensive backs in Georgia for the 2023 class.
