Almost no one covers 8-man football in Florida, 8-man football has produced good college players over the years and these prospects need to get some coverage and exposure as well in hopes that they will get the opportunity to move on to the next level. There are a lot of good prospects and sleepers in this conference that I will be featuring and spotlighting from all over the state of Florida.
Henry Pickard, WR- Shorecrest Prep
6’2 165lbs
Pickard is an intriguing prospect that has very good height and length for the wide receiver position. He runs pretty good routes showing the ability to drop his hips and get in and out of his breaks. He’s a good athlete that Shorecrest Prep lined up all over the field and even had him running wild cat showing speed, vision, and big-play ability. Pickard is definitely a small school college prospect.

Drew Bunn, QB- Shorecrest Prep c/o 23
5’11 180lbs
Bunn is a big-time competitor, he goes all over the area competing against bigger School quarterbacks at showcases and does a good job holding his own. He has very good mechanics and footwork, throws the deep ball with touch and accuracy, shows the ability to look off defenders and come back to the other side. He does a good job of evading the rush and keeping his eyes downfield for big plays. Will stand in the pocket and take hits and deliver the ball with accuracy. There’s not a doubt in my mind Bunn could start for a lot of bigger schools in the Tampa Bay area.
Morgan Babb, RB,CB- Merritt Island Christian c/o 23
5’8 165lbs
Babb had an outstanding season rushing for 1068 yards and 17 touchdowns and averaged over 133 yards rushing per game. Babb is a very instinctive runner that has great burst and acceleration to the edge, and shows home run hitting speed in the open field. His film shows him getting into the open field and running away from defenders. Despite his size he runs through tackles and fights for every yard. I was really impressed with his film.

Layson Handwork, DE- Merritt Island Christian
6’0 220lbs
Handwork was first team All-State and Lead 8-man football this season with 9 sacks. He’s a smart player that has a 3.8 GPA, he does a good job playing with leverage, getting his hands inside and getting off blocks and getting to the ball carrier. He makes very athletic plays for a D-lineman, showing the ability to drop out of his pass-rush and pick off passes, he’s really quick and can penetrate and disrupt behind the line of scrimmage. He’s a heck of an athlete that also played baseball, soccer, and wrestles.

Yohance Love, CB,WR- All Saints Academy c/o 23
5’7 150lbs
Love is a cornerback prospects that led the State with 8 interceptions for 8-man football. He had a big part in helping All Saints Academy win the state championship this season. He’s very fast, he runs a 10.8 100m and a 4.7 40 yard dash. Love is a scrapper, he doesn’t back down, shows good ability in off coverage to track the ball in the air and break up passes swiping through the ball. He’s athletic with light feet and can flip his hips and run with any receiver with smooth acceleration, he does a good job reading routes and jumping the football.
