It’s a place some kids dream about playing at, and if you’re a big-time prospect in Georgia, there’s a good chance the Irish will come find you.
Notre Dame signed three players from Georgia in the 2019 class and four from Georgia in this most recent 2021 class. The Irish have one peach-state product committed in the 2022 class and they’re looking to load up once in again in the 2023 class.
The Notre Dame football staff extended multiple 2023 offers out to players in Georgia, and they made sure it all happened on St. Patrick’s Day.
One offer was sent out to the state’s top 2023 prospect in five-star DE Leebeus Overton. The outstanding pass rusher led the state of Georgia in sacks as a sophomore last season with 21.5 and holds offers from just about every school in the country. The 6-foot-5 245-pounder also tallied 70 total tackles and 38 TFLs to go along with six forced fumbles. He dynamic two-sport star has a chance to be the top overall prospect in the country for the 2023 class. Now that the Irish have offered, look for them to jump into the mix in Overton’s recruitment.

Another 2023 EDGE defender who earned an offer from the Irish was Warner Robins star, Vic Burley. Another pass rusher with 5-star potential, Burley led the state-champion Demons in sacks last season with 11. Burley played on a very talented defense, and on a special team. Even as a sophomore, Burley made a major impact and was a big reason for the Demon’s success last year. Burley also made 59 total tackles and 22 TFLs. He was a force to deal with all season long and consistently found his way in the backfield. The big 6-foot-4 255-pounder from Middle Georgia holds offers from Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, among others. Now, he holds an offer from Notre Dame. Look for Burley to be towards the top of the national 2023 rankings down the road.

The Notre Dame staff also extended an offer to one of the best players in the Savannah area in 2023 ATH Troy Ford. The 6-foot-2 240-pound defender from Calvary Day School has just now started to see his recruitment take off, and this new Notre Dame offer could really get the ball rolling for him. He was named 1st-team All-Region as a linebacker where he made 69 tackles and 10 sacks. He showed great instincts for a sophomore last season and was physically ready to play against every opponent. He looks and plays like a veteran already and will only continue to get better over the next two years. He’s a sure tackler, can get off blocks, and shows great burst and pursuit to the football. He holds two offers now, from Notre Dame and Georgia Tech, but more are expected to come his way soon.

The Irish couldn’t leave the state without extending a defensive back offer, and that one went out to Cedar Grove star, Kayin Lee Kayin Lee 6'0" | 160 lbs | DB Cedar Grove | 2023 State GA . One of the top cover corners in the entire state already, Lee is as smooth as it gets and knows how to stay with bigger, faster receivers. He’s fundamentally sound and has no problem locking up the opponent’s top receiver. Lee played on one of the best defenses in the state last year and he was a big reason why they were so good. While Cedar Grove was unable to play a full schedule, Lee still proved to be one of the top CB prospects in his class. He’s perfecting his craft this off-season in 7-on-7, so he should have another excellent year this fall as a junior. Lee now holds offers from Notre Dame, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida State, among others.
