I got invited out to Next Level Athletix’s Sunday morning session at Westmont Yard so I had to go check it out. There was a mix of Varsity and JV players in attendance which was nice to get a look at the younger guys. Here are the WRs & DBs from Sunday’s session.

<em>John Moore St. Francis HS <a href="https://twitter.com/JohnMoore_6">Twitter</a> <a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/9562332/5e017730e97ab10f60adb42b">Highlights</a></em>
Starting off we're taking a look at Mr. Moore from St. Francis HS. He was primarily playing defense during one on ones and was able to showcase his skill set there. He's able to stay with his man in coverage by getting to the receiver's hip pocket forcing incompletions. He does so by getting a hand in there to deflect the pass and forcing the receiver off of his route messing up the timing with the QB. Mr. Moore looks to show what he can do in two days when the pads come on and I expect he'll turn heads in the process.

<em>Kamrin Hutt Maine West HS <a href="https://twitter.com/HuttKamrin">Twitter</a> <a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/9341416/5d9ea95a5eecaa149827c5b5">Highlights</a></em>
Mr. Hutt is from Maine West HS. He was at an earlier training session before heading to Next Level Athletix which goes to show his work ethic. He was able to stay with his man in coverage forcing incompletions during one on ones. He reacts quickly by diagnosing the play and once he does so he plants his foot in the ground to attack the receiver. Mr. Hutt is going to be a sight to see this spring as he gets it done on both sides of the ball.

<em>Charlie Newton Walter Payton College Prep <a href="https://twitter.com/canewton40">Twitter</a></em>
Mr. Newton is from Walter Payton College Prep. He's a younger receiver but man does he have the skill set to play on varsity. He's quick off the ball, already has developed a speed cut to create separation from defenders, and is able to break defenders off at the top of his routes. During one on ones, he won a majority of his reps which were up against the older athletes. Mr. Newton still has room to hone his craft and develop himself further. That being said his skillset as a 23' makes him a name to watch and I wouldn't be surprised if his name starts to get onto coaches radars in the coming years.

<em>Jack Kranc Plainfield South HS <a href="https://twitter.com/jack_kranc">Twitter</a></em>
Mr. Kranc is from Plainfield South HS. He takes a good break on the ball once the receiver makes a move and is able to stay with his man in coverage by getting to the receiver's hip. Mr. Kranc has room to develop further and hone his craft, once he does so it'll tap into his potential elevating his play.
<em>Kalik Thompson Bolingbrook HS <a href="https://twitter.com/ThompsonKalik_">Twitter</a></em>
Mr. Thompson is from Bolingbrook HS. He's another younger DB that was in attendance for Sunday's session. During one on ones, he was able to defend the deep ball well not allowing himself to get beat overtop. Mr. Thompson has room to develop further as he's only a 23' and there's no doubt in my mind that he's going to put in the work to do so.
<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em><strong>25’s</strong></em></span>
<em>Dinos Drossos Oswego HS <a href="https://twitter.com/DinosDrossos">Twitter</a></em>
Mr. Drossos is headed to Oswego HS next year. As an 8th grader, he has great size standing at 6'3 181 and can go up to make contested catches as seen in the video below. He's going to be a name to know once he gets a few high school seasons under his belt and with further development the sky is the limit. Mr. Drossos has a lot of untapped potential as it's very early in his career and I expect that potential to flourish in the coming years.

James Penley Nazareth Academy <a href="https://twitter.com/JamesPenley5">Twitter</a>
Finishing off, we have Mr. Penley who will be attending Nazareth Academy next year. Another 8th grader that is above the pact with his skillset. He runs routes crispily, is quick off the ball, and can break the defender of at the top of his route creating separation. It's all seen in the video below. Mr. Penley is going to be a name to know once he gets a few high school seasons under his belt and with further development the sky is the limit for this young man.

These athletes are going to turn heads when the pads come on March 19th to showcase their development. Keep an eye on these names as in the coming years they could be playing on Saturdays. Thank you again Next Level Athletix for having me out to your Sunday Session, I enjoyed being able to meet your athletes and coaches.
