February is always one of the busiest months on the recruiting calendar. As one recruiting cycle ends (traditional signing day is the first Wednesday in Feb.), another begins.
Plenty of 2021 prospects signed with the colleges of their choice, more than 10 with Eastern New Mexico. However, as the month went along, 2022 prospects started the recruiting process. Several have taken virtual visits with coaches at schools from outside the state.
2022 St. Pius X running back Marcus Ybarra and Raton quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="26234" first="Dylan" last="Quartieri"] recently took virtual tours of the Carleton College campus in Minnesota. In addition, 2023 La Cueva QB Aidan Armenta took a virtual tour of Ohio Wesleyan, while 2022 Rio Rancho RB [player_tooltip player_id="26227" first="Zach" last="Vigil"] had a virtual tour of FCS newcomer St. Thomas University in Minnesota.
2022 recruiting is off and running.
