The state of Georgia has no problem producing some of the nation’s fastest prospects each year. The Kansas City Chiefs have two of the fastest players in the NFL, Tyreek Hill and Mecole Hardman, both from the state of Georgia. Hill was from South Georgia’s Coffee County while Hardman is from Elbert County in East Georgia. The peach state has more players coming through in the 2022 class with world-class speed, and many have started receiving offers from some of the top programs in the country. Here are some of the fastest prospects across Georgia in the 2022 class. [player_tooltip player_id="95444" first="Isaiah" last="Bond"] - Buford The explosive athlete has game-changing speed and used it often during the Wolves’ 2020 state championship run. He’s not the biggest wide-out in the region, but his speed makes him one of the biggest playmakers in the entire state. At 6-foot-0 175-pounds, Bond ran the nation’s fastest 100-meter dash earlier this month when he ran it in 10.73 seconds. Bond also placed 2nd in the 200-meter dash with a posted time of 21.57 seconds. Bond uses that speed well on offense as he was able to get behind the defense over and over again last fall. He’s a dangerous deep-ball threat for any offense at the next level due to his straight-line speed and ball skills. As good as he is as a receiver, Bond can also turn around and hold his own at cornerback. There’s not a receiver in the region who can run by him, so it’s easy to see why so many would want him on the defensive side of the ball. Either way, expect Bond’s speed to help the Wolves make another state-title run in 2021. Bond holds offers from Georgia, Texas, Miami, Wisconsin, among others. [player_tooltip player_id="95463" first="Emory" last="Floyd"] - Hillgrove The Cobb County star is another one of the state’s top defensive backs who has world-class track speed. Floyd, who also has great length for a cornerback, has electric speed and the ability to run with just about any receiver in the country. The 6-foot-2 170-pound defensive back claims a 4.4 in the 40-yard dash, a time that should impress NFL scouts one day. In July of 2020, Floyd ran a blazing 21.18 in the 200-meter dash and a 10.51 in the 100-meter dash. His speed runs in his blood as Floyd’s father was also a track star back in his time. The younger Floyd’s track-speed translates extremely well to the football field, and he gets it done on the track just like he gets his job done on the gridiron. Floyd’s speed, length, and overall potential on the football field has led to offers from Georgia, Notre Dame, Auburn, Florida, among others. https://twitter.com/EmoryFloyd/status/1284840844026171393?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="33861" first="Travis" last="Hunter"] - Collins Hill Hunter may not have the track speed that Bond and Floyd have, but his game-speed alone gets him on this list. The explosive 5-star prospect is the state’s top-ranked football prospect thanks to his natural speed and quickness. On offense, Hunter consistently finds a way to beat defenses deep and knows how to find the end-zone with the ball in his hands. He can out-run angles with ease and showed time and time again why his game speed is one of the best in the country. He won’t beat Floyd or Bond in a straight-line contest, but there aren’t many guys who can out-run Hunter on the football field. He’s a tremendous talent and has game-changing speed that should help the Eagles make another run at a state championship in 2021. Other notable prospects who are speed-demons as well are [player_tooltip player_id="33778" first="Malik" last="Williams"] (Buford), [player_tooltip player_id="95443" first="Victor" last="Venn"] (Buford), and Aveion Terrell (Westlake).
