Daishun Scott | 2022 LB | Greenville Christian School
As a 6’4″ 205 linebacker who also plays basketball, there is a lot to like about Daishun Scott. A two way player as well, Scott is incredibly productive for Greenville Christian. Although he plays the outside receiver position well, Scott’s future is at linebacker. Scott is the prototypical inside backer for this day and age as he can run sideline to sideline and play the pass well. He is efficient in zone coverage and can bait the quarterback into throwing easy interceptions. With his length, he can disrupt passing lanes and create separation between himself and offensive linemen. Scott also preforms well on the blitz and can efficiently wrap up ball carriers. With his ridiculous production of 9 sacks and 3 INTs, Scott is quite the sleeper on a team loaded with talent.
Davin Anderson Davin Anderson 6'4" | 235 lbs | DL St. Joseph's | 2022 State MS | 2022 DL | St. Joseph Catholic
After playing his sophomore season at Greenwood, Davin Anderson Davin Anderson 6'4" | 235 lbs | DL St. Joseph's | 2022 State MS made the transfer over to St. Joe’s. At 6’4″ 235, Anderson has the perfect size to continue growing into a 5 tech DL or play stand up outside linebacker. Currently, Anderson wrecks havoc on offenses in the Delta. He has good get off that allows him to be in the backfield before offensive linemen can react. He plays stout against the run and doesn’t allow backs to get outside of him. Using his strength, he can push off blockers coming his way and make quick tackles for loss. As a pass rusher, Anderson is incredibly disruptive. He has a great nose for the football and can cause a lot of fumbles on sacks by using his length to his advantage. Anderson also has a motor that runs hot and chases down ball carriers when the play is away from him. With 2 offers from local junior colleges so far, Anderson will be a quick riser in recruiting circles.
Carson Graham Carson Graham 6'1" | 205 lbs | LB St Joseph | 2023 State MS | 2023 LB | St. Joseph Catholic
Another St. Joe’s defender, Carson Graham Carson Graham 6'1" | 205 lbs | LB St Joseph | 2023 State MS comes in as a 6’1″ 200 pound varsity starter as a sophomore. The young backer had 18 TFLs and 7.5 sacks last year. Graham plays like an old school MIKE linebacker. He comes screaming downhill to fill a gap and deliver a punishing hit. Graham reads offenses well and can quickly key in on where he is supposed to be. He finds his way to the ball carrier through traffic and doesn’t get hung up on opposing guards and tackles. When tackling, Graham looks like one of the better form tacklers in the state. He hits with an even base and wraps the ball carrier up to the ground. Using his strength, he also gets a good bit of contact in as well. As a coverage man, Graham shows good ability to stick with the receiver or back that he is assigned to. With overall development to his body and athleticism, Graham has two seasons left of high school ball to make a serious name for himself.
Cortavious Rogers | 2022 DB | Yazoo County
DBs that can play every position in the secondary are always huge assets for teams. That is exactly what Cortavious Rogers is. The 6’0″ 180 back had a ton of production last season, and looks to be on track to make some noise in the camp and 7v7 circuit. In pass coverage, Rogers has a smooth and steady back pedal with solid hips to change direction. He is a very intelligent player who can read quarterbacks’ eyes to make quick breaks on the ball. If the ball is in the air, there is a strong chance that Rogers is going to come down with it. He has great ball skills and knows how to play the game well. Against the run, Rogers isn’t afraid of coming down into the box and sticking his nose into contact. Rogers has some strength to get off of blocks and can make effective tackles on ball carriers. Look for him to be a quick riser in the offseason and have a big time senior season.
