Because this is a new age of athletes who are playing high school football these days, it is no longer uncommon to see 8th graders at the varsity level for private schools – and 9th graders at the public programs that do not have the luxury of having grades under high school not on campus.
Your prospects have been filling out varsity rosters in Florida for a long time now. That is why there is more of a focus than ever before on the freshmen who are making an impact.
As we all know, this past season was a disaster for recruiting – and now all the classes, 2022-2025, are looking for their piece of the pie, especially with the lack of exposure many of the athletes are receiving with the pandemic still hanging around and the NCAA extending the “dark period” in which they cannot make contact with the athletes.
While our focus has been getting out the 2022 (rising seniors) and 2023 (rising juniors), the Class of 2024 has quietly produced a number of gifted prospects who are starting to get some of the spotlight.
Today, we bring you 5 of the 2024 prospects to keep an eye on:
Jabari Dukes, OL, Hialeah Champagnat Catholic. At 6-3, 275, here is one of those young men who is well on his way. Tremendous footwork and understanding of the game and position. Was a key member of the 2A state championship team.

Tavoy Feagin, CB/WR, Tampa Catholic. One of the versatile prospects for a program that just started to turn the corner this past season – losing in the playoffs. Having a player who can lineup at cornerback, receiver and running back is huge for this team – moving forward.

Adarius Hayes, TE/LB, Largo. There was something special about this quality talent from the beginning – as a 6-4 athlete who us capable of helping the team win on both sides of the ball. Has the size and pass-catching abilities for a tight end, but also has the athleticism and quickness to play linebacker.

DMarius Rucker, RB, Lakeland. Definitely one of the prospects that this program is excited about – as he has shown that he has the skill to lead this team – and with three years to get bigger and more experienced, certainly someone who has a chance to be very special for legendary head coach Bill Castle and the Dreadnaughts.

Daviyon Hawkins, DL, Rockledge. Along with teammate Terrell Spruill, here is a prospect that the Raiders feel very strongly about over the next few years. Checks all the boxed early on – and that is a great thing as this team remains in the hunt every year for the playoffs. He is already 6-2, 243 and can play anywhere up front.
