<strong><em>Week 2 of the California high school football season did not disappoint for the second straight week. With top teams facing off and some of the best players across the region competing, below we will break down some of the top performances put on during Week 2 of the high school football season. </em></strong>
<em><strong>QB Jake Elorduy-Christian Brothers HS</strong></em>
<em>A very efficient two sport athlete, the Christian Brothers signal caller has a strong pocket presence and does a good job at taking what the defense gives him. Able to throw into tight windows, he has thrown for 400+ yards over the first two weeks of the season and 4 TD’s.</em>
<em><strong>WR [player_tooltip player_id="25098" first="Tsion" last="Nunnally"]-Cardinal Newman HS</strong></em>
<em>The Wazzu commit started his Senior season with a bang. He erupted for 264 yards and 4 touchdowns against Windsor. One of the most physically dominating receivers in the entire state, Nunnally is poised for a huge year for one of the top teams in Northern California</em>
<em><strong>RB Logan Stelling-Christopher HS</strong></em>
<em>Coming off a monster game on the ground against Branham, Stelling is one of the top running backs in the region this Spring season. Very dynamic out of the back field able to break tackles in traffic while showing acceleration through the first level, he has college level abilities at the next level. He carried the ball 14 times and rushed for 314 yards while adding 4 touchdowns. </em>
<em><strong>QB Teddy Purcell-Sacred Heart Prep HS</strong></em>
<em>A very efficient and smart pocket passer, Purcell shows good arm talent and strong mechanics while having pocket awareness and throwing the deep ball with good velocity into tight windows. Over the last two weeks, he has thrown for over 450 yards and 4 touchdowns for the Bay Area squad.</em>
<em><strong>QB Dominique Lampkin-Serra HS</strong></em>
<em>Holding multiple FBS offers, Lampkin is a terrific athlete who is always a big time threat inside and outside of the pocket. Playing for one of the top teams in the entire state, in week 2, he threw for 216 yards, 4 TD’s and added another 70+ on the ground. A true FBS talent with a ton of versatility at the next level.</em>
<em><strong>ATH [player_tooltip player_id="25284" first="Hassan" last="Mahasin"]-Serra</strong></em>
<em>Another Serra High School standout on an absolutely loaded roster, Mahasin did not disappoint last week and exploded for 6 rec. for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns. Explosive in the open field with the ability to make defenders miss in space while having great third level speed and strong hands, he will continue to be one of the top prospects in the West over the next 18 months.</em>
<em><strong>WR [player_tooltip player_id="25372" first="Jurrion" last="Dickey"]-Valley Christian HS</strong></em>
<em>Already a National Recruit and will have 15+ Power Five offers by the time it’s all said and done, Dickey had another terrific performance in week 2 catching 5 passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns. He will continue his dominance against very good Norcal competition through out the Spring season.</em>
<em><strong>LB Na</strong><strong>than Rooks-St. Vincent de Paul HS</strong></em>
<em>The 2023 inside linebacker was all over the field in Week 1 of the SVHS season. Having 11 total tackles and 5 for loss with 2 sacks, Rooks is a very physical second level defender that brings good thump upon contact and plays with high motor/toughness. A strong tackler in space and understands pressure timing and can rush the passer, he has FCS+ level abilities at the next level and is one of the top 2023 linebackers across all of Northern California. </em>
<em><strong>RB [player_tooltip player_id="25387" first="Kai" last="Hall"]-St. Vincent de Paul HS</strong></em>
<em>The NCS Freshman of the Year started right where he left off during his dominating campaign in 2019. In week 1 of this Spring season, the Sophomore back racked up 161 rushing yards on 23 carries and added another 68 receiving yards and 3 total touchdowns. Possessing elite vision and elusiveness/contact balance in traffic, he is on track to continue to be one of the top 2023 running backs in the entire state.</em>
<em><strong>DL Joshua Nisa-San Leandro HS</strong></em>
<em>Nisa is an explosive interior defender that has FCS abilities and is athletic enough to play 3-tech at the next level. The 2022 prospect has an explosive first step, active hands and a variety of speed/power pass rush moves. During week 2 he has another dominating performance with 3 sacks and multiple tackles.</em>
