With more competitive performances last season and victories over Ole Miss and Mississippi State, attention has turned to how Sam Pittman and his staff will recruit in the offseason. It has become critical for the Razorbacks to keep major division one talent from leaving the state. Arkansas was able to accomplish this feat today. Let’s meet the guys that have placed verbal commitments with the Razorbacks.
Over the past few months, we have discussed the 2022 offensive line position grouping being one of the most talented that the state of Arkansas has ever seen. Maumelle Hornets’ offensive linemen Andrew Chamblee Andrew Chamblee 6'6" | 290 lbs | OL Maumelle | 2022 State AR has seen his recruiting start to explode over the offseason. Chamblee has earned 18 scholarship offers up to this point. Chamblee made the decision on Saturday that he wanted to be a Hog.
Chamblee gives the Hogs an offensive lineman that has SEC talent written all over him. He is a powerhouse at the offensive tackle position. He does an impressive job when it comes to his pass blocking. Chamblee at 6-7 and 300 pounds is rarely overpower and he has the speed to contend with any type of speed rush that opposing defensive linemen can throw at him. Chamblee has the potential to a solid SEC offensive lineman for several years and fit well into Sam Pittman’s system.
As talented as the offensive line position grouping is, the running back position in the 2022 is just as talented as the offensive line position. Arkansas did not just land Andrew Chamblee Andrew Chamblee 6'6" | 290 lbs | OL Maumelle | 2022 State AR today, which by itself would have made the day great for the Hogs, but they were also able to secure the commitment of Little Rock Parkview’s James Jointer James Jointer 6'0" | 205 lbs | RB Little Rock Parkview | 2022 State AR . Arkansas offensive coordinator Kendall Briles was looking to add Jointer who will fit in well to what Briles is wanting to accomplish on the offensive side of the ball.
Jointer is another Arkansas recruit that has earned 29 scholarship offers up to this point. Jointer is exceptional at coming out of the backfield and catching the football. He has an extra gear in the open field where he can just leave opposing defenders trailing behind him. As far as his running style goes, he does an excellent job of setting up his blocks and picking the rushing lane he is going to take to get into the open field.
For Arkansas to pull themselves out of the SEC basement, bringing in guys like Jointer and Chamblee is vital for the program to survive. Coach Pittman and his staff did a terrific job of securing the verbal commitments of Jointer and Chamblee. Both Jointer and Chamblee give Arkansas SEC talent that they did not leave the state of Arkansas to secure. We at Prep RedZone Arkansas wish James Jointer James Jointer 6'0" | 205 lbs | RB Little Rock Parkview | 2022 State AR and Andrew Chamblee Andrew Chamblee 6'6" | 290 lbs | OL Maumelle | 2022 State AR congratulations and keep up the great work!
