While there is enormous talent each and every year – and more than 400 athletes statewide who annually attract Division 1 offers, there are so many gifted football prospects, who fly way beneath the radar screen.
In a regular year, there are many athletes who are passed by just because of the sheer numbers of elite prospect. This year, with a limited season and no camps, combines or team scrimmage events, seeing everyone of the athletes who represent this impressive class was not easy.
Because so many athletes will get overlooked, we are here every single day of the year – helping to promote and put these young men into the spotlight.
Today, we have five very talented football prospects who deserves to be put in that group of talented athletes who will be on display over the next two years.
Jaheim Buchanon, OT, 6-3, 290, Lehigh. Having watched this program and seeing the number of athletes this amazing coaching staff has to work with, you can understand why this is a prospect who is certainly going to gain plenty of momentum this spring and summer. Quick feet, very strong and athletic are the best way to describe this talented young man who will lead a new wave of prospects that Coach Chaney and this team are very optimistic about. Tony Edwards III, WR, 5-11, 170, Bradenton Southeast. Talk about explosion, talent and a gift of making huge plays, this is indeed someone who is extremely special. His speed and ability to come up with the huge play is what everyone likes about this quality prospect. In addition, here is a quality football talent who is quite a special teams performers – on kickoffs and punt returns, Big time potential, here.

Jelani Gelin, OLB, 6-0, 215, Miramar Everglades. Make no mistake about this young man. He is gifted, athletic and has a passion for this game. Has played numerous positions, which has prepared him for the future – knowing that he will be growing and maturing and continue to make plays. Solid football talent that we all should keep in our mind for the future.

Andre Lucas, CB/WR, 5-11, 165, Fernandina Beach. Whether it’s at the cornerback position – or at the slot receiver spot – this is indeed someone who has the potential to make things happen In games against state-rated competition such as Jacksonville Bolles, he had the opportunity to showcase his any skills, especially on the defensive side of the ball. But as a receiver, this is a talent who stretches the field and gives the secondary something to worry about. He also can run, which is yet another positive in his game.

Todd Williams, OLB/TE/DE, 6-4, 235, Crawfordville Wakulla. Yet another quality big man, who plays multiple positions for a program that is always in the playoff mix. Remember, what Todd brings to the table is not only a defensive threat – as an end of a linebacker, but also is an asset on offense, lining up as a tight end. Watching him perform, you forget that he has two full years left to play at this level.
