Coach Kevin Kelley has built a powerhouse program at Pulaski Academy and the Bruins have plenty of talented seniors returning for their senior seasons in 2021. The Bruins are always team that fans and scouts keep an eye on when the season starts because of the success that Kevin Kelley has had at Pulaski Academy. Taking an early look at the Bruins and the talent returning is always a good idea when it concerns the Bruins.
Joe Himon Joe Himon 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Pulaski Academy | 2022 State AR -Running Back
Himon is an explosive force with the ball in his hands. In 2020, Himon rushed for 1,925 yards and 23 touchdowns. He has great vision, and he shows tremendous patience in picking a rushing lane to go through. Himon is not just a threat from a rushing perspective, he is also a dangerous receiver and Pulaski Academy does a terrific job of using him in the passing game. In the passing game, Himon racked up 80 receptions, 1,068 yards receiving, and nine touchdowns. With this kind of production, it comes as no surprise that he has earned 15 scholarship offers and will likely earn more as we head into the 2021 season.
Charlie Fiser-Quarterback
The Pulaski Academy coaching staff does a terrific job in putting the quarterbacks in a position to be successful. Fiser does a terrific job of being accurate with the football and not forcing passes to his wide receivers. Fiser passed for 2,761 yards, 38 touchdowns, and only threw 12 interceptions last season. He is not afraid to run the football to pick up first downs and extend the drives. Fiser is mobile in the pocket and does a good job of keeping his eyes down the field. He would rather make a big play in the passing game than use his legs to pick up a few yards. Pulaski Academy is going to be a dangerous team to contend with, with Fiser at the quarterback position.
Harrison Lane-Linebacker
The Bruins are not without talent on the defensive side of the ball. Harrison Lane has a nose for the football and always seems to be around the ball. In 2020, Lane picked off five passes and had for pass deflections for the Bruins. He has played the wide receiver and the linebacker spots for the Bruins over the past few years, and he has the potential to be a factor in the 2021 season. Lane is a multisport athlete that is going to be a player to watch this season. Lane has tremendous potential, and he is going to be a player to watch no matter where he lines up for the Bruins this season.
Dale Pignio-Defensive Line
Pignio is a player along the defensive line that is a versatile player for the Bruins. Pignio has played well for the Bruins over the past few years. Pignio saw action in every game for the Bruins last season. Pignio racked up 43 tackles working along the defensive line and he is a disruptive play for the Bruins. Pulaski Academy will lean on Pignio along the defensive front again this season. He does an impressive job using his speed to get into the backfield to shut down the run. Fans should look for Pignio to be that steady player along the defensive line for Pulaski Academy again this season.
