As expected, new offers are flying out all over the state of Georgia. The peach state has seen multiple prospects see their recruitment take off in recent weeks and more players are seeing newer offers come their way in the last few days.
Here are a few prospects who have earned new offers...
[player_tooltip player_id="34033" first="Bryce" last="Thornton"] - DB - Milton
The impressive athlete from Milton is coming off a big sophomore season where he led the team with three INTs. His brother is an outstanding point guard committed to Ohio State, and his father is a former SEC cornerback. That’s where Bryce will likely play down the road due to his long frame, impressive footwork, and above average ball skills. The 5-foot-11 185-pounder is also deadly with the ball in his hands and should see some work on both offense and special teams this fall. Thornton has held an offer from the in-state Bulldogs for a while now and this week he earned another big offer from Oregon. With the Ducks on board, look for more offers to possibly come his way later this week.
[player_tooltip player_id="33913" first="Steven" last="Nahmias"] - OL - Marist
The Marist Eagles are once again state champions, and a big reason why was because of their outstanding rushing attack behind one of the toughest, nastiest offensive lines in the state. That group was led by 2022 OG [player_tooltip player_id="33913" first="Steven" last="Nahmias"], and the interior lineman has seen his recruitment start to take off now that his junior film has been released. The 6-foot-3 285-pounder was a 4-A 1st Team All-State selection and paved the way for an Eagles offense that ran through every opponent on the schedule. Nahmias has had a big month of February so far, earning offers from N.C State, Mississippi State, and Coastal Carolina.
[player_tooltip player_id="33998" first="Thomas" last="Castellanos"] - QB - Ware County
The athletic, playmaking QB from South Georgia was one of the biggest sleepers in the state coming into the 2020 season, and after a monster junior season where he scored 47 total touchdowns, his recruitment is starting to take off. While most schools are recruiting him as a true athlete, Castellanos does have a strong arm and can be a dangerous weapon at the next level with the ball in his hands. He did hurt teams with his arm last year as he threw for close to 3,000 yards and 23 touchdowns, but he showed his playmaking ability with his legs as he rushed for 940 yards and 24 touchdowns. He’s one of the top athletes in the country and would be an excellent weapon in the slot for a Power 5 programs. He still doesn’t have a large offer sheet, but that will likely change in the coming weeks. He’s had a good month of February so far, earning offers from Florida State, Troy, and Florida Atlantic.
[player_tooltip player_id="95463" first="Emory" last="Floyd"] - DB - Hillgrove
One of the fastest prospects in the country, the versatile defensive back from Cobb County holds some big offers already, but he recently earned an offer from the historic Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The 6-foot-2 165-pounder is a raw athlete but has a skillset that translates well to the next level. He’s long, he can run with any receiver on the outside, and if full of untapped potential. Floyd now holds offers from Georgia.
[player_tooltip player_id="33884" first="Quentel" last="Jones"] - DL - Peach County
The big 6-foot-3 285-pounder is coming off a big junior season where he terrorized opposing offensive linemen all season. He’s quick off the ball and has great upper body strength. He plays with leverage but his quickness off the ball is what stands out the most. He’s a physical defender from a tough program and has started to take his game to the next level in the last 12 months. He moves well for his size, he’s disruptive, and he could see many more offers coming his way. In the last few days, Jones has earned offers from Tennessee, Mississippi State, Coastal Carolina, and many more.
