Running Back Newcomers For 2021

These 5 newcomers will be playing running back this fall and should see their role grow from last year and make a big jump and see their ranking go up!   [player_tooltip player_id="58830" first="Josh" last="Moody"] Man High School 2023 Josh showed great potential in his sophomore season and should see a big jump going into his junior season. He shows great size and athleticism when running the ball and shows the patience to set up his blocks and be able to fight through tackles for extra yards. He shows great burst and the ability to score from anywhere on the field with the ball in his hands. He has great ball carrier vision and finds an opening and gets north and south fast. He has underrated quickness and should see his production and role increase for his junior season. [player_tooltip player_id="58849" first="Amir" last="Hairston"] Bluefield High School 2024 Amir showed a great amount of potential in his freshman season. He showed a home run like ability with the ball in his hands and showed great speed and agility with being able to outrun and evade defenders with the ball in his hands. He’s still a smaller back but with still having 3 additional years left the sky is the limit for him and his room to grow into a great player within the state. Look for Amir to continue to grow and become a dominant running back in the state for the next few years. Dylan Ours Fairmont Senior High School 2024 Dylan showed a great amount of potential for his freshman season. He showed great burst and the ability to fight off defenders and gain extra yardage on carries. He’s a patient runner and shows great vision with reading his blocks and getting north and south and putting his shoulder down fighting through contact. He’s already a powerful back as a freshman and should look to see his production go up with seeing limited snaps last season and continue to grow and become a good player within the state for the next few seasons. Jamari Bass Weir High School 2023 Jamari had a solid sophomore season and showed good potential. He shows the ability to be patient when reading his blocks and the ability to get to the next level with his burst and vision. He’s a shifty back that shows a great ability to dodge defenders and make them miss. He shows great speed and the ability to get downhill fast and make defenders miss. Look for Jamari to have a big year for his junior season and carry most of the workload for the run game for Weir. [player_tooltip player_id="58841" first="Germaine" last="Lewis"] Fairmont Senior High School 2023 Germaine also showed great potential running the ball for Fairmont Senior. He showed great speed and agility along with showing patience when reading his blocks and using his agility to hit the next level before the defense can even react. He’s a home run scorer from anywhere on the field and shows highlight ability with the ball in his hands. He should look to see his production increase along with forming a solid tandem with freshman Dylan Ours.
