Grabbing the Spotlight: McGehee Wide Receiver Jac Cox
The McGehee Owls have traditionally been a state power in Arkansas. In 2020, the offense opened up quite a bit and the Owls were making use of some talented wide receivers that they have. Jackson Cox Jackson Cox 6'1" | 175 lbs | WR McGehee | 2022 State AR is the player we are going to concentrate on, in today’s Grabbing the Spotlight series of articles.
Cox is a player that does everything a coaching staff ask him to do and wants him to do. He runs precise routes and has the speed to create separation from the opposing defenders. What scouts and college coaches will find in Cox is a player that is not afraid of hard work. He has proven to be a willing blocker for his teammates and does mind doing the dirty work to spring a running back into open field. The young man has set goals for himself and the Owls this coming season to continue to improve.
Cox is working on improving his speed. However, he already runs 4.6 forty-yard dash, and his routes are very crisp. He continues to put in his time in the gym, lifting weights and getting stronger. Cox is one of those wide receivers that will not let the ball get into his body and he does not have careless drops. The work ethic that Cox displays is not matched by very many putting in the work in the classroom, on the farm, and in the gym.
McGehee is going to have an experienced group returning for the 2021 season and the potential to advance deep in the playoffs is there. The Owls are always a talented team and this group should not have a problem putting together another playoff run. I look for a big season out of both Cox and the Owls. College coaches are going to be visiting both Cox and the Owls this season, I have little doubt of that. Fans and scouts should keep an eye on Jackson Cox Jackson Cox 6'1" | 175 lbs | WR McGehee | 2022 State AR , he has the potential to have an explosive season.
