While there are still a ton of players who have not announced their commitment yet, there are also just as many players who have not received as much attention in general. Often times, these players are overlooked, when in actuality, they can perform quite well for a small school if given a chance, or if they even wanted to continue playing football at the next level. Below, we have listed a few WR’s throughout the state of Georgia who we feel have the talent to play for a smaller program at the next level.
Isaac Dimmock- Decatur
Dimmock is probably one of the most versatile, and underrated players on this list. Not only did he take snaps at RB this past year, but he also saw time at WR, and TE due to his overall ability to play solid football. Not only does he box players out well in contested catches, but he also puts himself in place to get some good yards after the catch. While he runs upright at times, he does not do a bad job at running routes due to his ability to get out of his breaks. With this, while he does not have break away speed, he has enough short area quickness to gain positive yards and keep defenders on their toes. He also has a bit of a twitch to his running style, as well as good footwork, which almost always results in him being able gain great separation.
Keeman Hayes- Tucker
Not only does Hayes have some of the best lateral movement skills out of each of the players on this list, but he also has an aggressive playing style, which we like to see out of a WR. Perhaps the reason why he plays this way is because he also plays defense, in which he has to utilize not only the same movement skills, but the same mentality when he steps on the field. Paired with this, Hayes also has quick feet, and great hands, in which he looks the ball into his hands each times he makes a catch. This is why he is able to snatch the ball out of the air from many different angles, and then turn that into quick gains. Another aspect to Hayes game that we would like to point out is his ability to run through tackles, and display a great balance upon contact. This will almost certainly help him out a ton at the next level if given a chance to further his playing career.
Nick Speros- Mount Pisgah
To say that Speros had a great Senior year is an understatement. During his last high school season, he totaled 87 catches, for over 1,200 yards and 8 TD’s. Once you cut on his tape, this comes as no surprise. Speros has a great burst, and getaway speed after the catch. With this, he has proven to be good at making various kinds of catches, always looking the ball into his hands, and catching it cleanly. While we do feel he could improve in his route running, we do like the energy he plays with, as well as the sense of urgency. His ability to get open regardless, and to find himself in the soft part of the defense and make consistent plays will certainly translate at the next level if given the chance.
Logan Crossfield- Allatoona
Crossfield, who plays CB as well, measures in roughly at 6’2, 200, and is a solid receiver who we feel would do a great job at a smaller program if given the chance. Not only does he have the size and frame to play the position at the next level, more specifically, a D2 school, but he also shows flashes of being able to play well wherever he is placed. Crossfield is a great reactionary player, and he has the instincts to be a game changer for his team. Not only can he snatch the ball out of the air, but he can catch it cleanly, and run very athletically after the catch as well. This is a big time trait when looking to evaluate and see if a player can translate to the next level. If given a chance, look for him to make a difference wherever he is given a chance to, and prove a ton of naysayers wrong.
