We are back to continue our series where we are going through our updated 2021 rankings and highlight the best players still uncommitted! Today we are going to combine the two linemen groups into one article. We will highlight the top 10 trench monsters that still have their recruitment open and are still undecided on where they are going to play their college ball. Just like in the other articles, I will list each player, their position, and their high school. Then I will provide a quick scouting report based off what I have seen in their film. Let’s get started! Disclaimer: I used each player’s twitter page to see if they have committed to a school. According to their pages, these 10 players are all still available! [player_tooltip player_id="30757" first="Evan" last="Ladwig"], OL- Plymouth Evan has been a popular name around our site for awhile now. He is not only one of the best lineman in the state, he is one of the best overall players based on our 2021 rankings. Evan’s talent is so special that I could honestly see him playing on either side of the ball at the next level. He has the elite size at 6’5" 270lbs and moves with the ease of a player half his size. His strength jumps off the tape, especially as an offensive linemen. He creates a ton of push and has the nasty demeanor to finish blocks through the whistle and also into the ground. The technique is really clean too for a player at his level. You won’t see him reaching or overextending on film. He keeps himself in a stance that allows him to always be ready to deliver a quick punch and drive defenders or set his anchor and stop rushers in their tracks. Ladwig is a legitimate D1 talent and he has the offers to show for it. I am very interested to see where he decides to go and if any other schools make a push for him. [player_tooltip player_id="30755" first="Charlie" last="Clark"], OL- Madison Edgewood You won’t find a more physically imposing senior offensive lineman in Wisconsin. Charlie checks in at a well put together 6’7" and 300 lbs. Their are a couple of D1 level programs that have made offers to him in hopes of landing his reliable traits too. There are a lot of traits to work with in the Madison Edgewood product. He has a massive wingspan that he uses to control defensive linemen with ease as they never have the length to reach him first or the power to get his hands down. Charlie has impressive natural strength. Multiple times in his film he tosses defensive linemen to the ground and moves on to the next defender. I am looking forward to his commitment because he has offers from several different levels. Lots of routes for him to go with. [player_tooltip player_id="30782" first="Joe" last="Timmis"], OL- Milwaukee Marquette Joe has been picking up some steam here late on the recruiting trail. Just a couple of weeks ago he landed his first D1 offer. It is great to see the 6’4" 280 lbs, athletic offensive lineman get that level of recognition. It is well deserved once you pop on the tape. The first team all conference lineman is a bulldozer in the run game. Once he gets his hands on his defender he drives them off the ball or he drives them into the ground. Either way they are removed far from the play. It is clear to see that he has that next level of strength to work with. My favorite part of his game is he can take that strength and take it out on the move. He can pull and lead on screen plays or get to the second level and when he does he has the reactive athleticism to hit the smaller, quicker targets and make effective blocks. It will be interesting to see where he goes with his decision as well. He is another player with offers from several levels of college football. [player_tooltip player_id="30814" first="Trevor" last="Fiecko"], OL- Roncalli Trevor has been a fast riser over his senior season. Once he wrapped up his final season of high school ball he landed offers and/or PWO offers from all three levels of collegiate football. It is well deserved too. The potential that the 6’5" 310 lbs lineman has shown on tape is clearly high. Fiecko didn’t allow a sack all season long and he absolutely mauls defensive linemen. His play strength is some of the best in the state. The amount of power he plays with in the run game and pass game make him a tone setter in the trenches. In the run game, Trevor easily creates lanes by putting defenders into the ground or removing them from the screen. In the pass game, his punch is so strong that multiple times it is enough to send pass rushers into the ground. His anchor strength is exactly what you look for at the next level as he won’t easily be moved backwards. There is so much to work with here, so his decision is going to be a highly awaited one for me. [player_tooltip player_id="31017" first="Monta" last="Beamon"], DL- South Milwaukee Monta is our site’s best available defensive linemen for the 2021 class. The South Milwaukee High product looks the part of a top recruit at 6’5" 235 lbs. He has the length to create the separation to defeat offensive linemen at the point of attack and he uses it successfully at a consistent rate. He is an impressive athlete too when he is in pursuit or when he is attempting to make a tackle out in space. His first step quickness really gives him the upper hand as a pass rusher and allows him to get in position to set the edge against the run before offensive linemen can get to him. Beamon actually won’t play his senior season until this spring, and I expect him to really break out and receive further offers if he doesn’t make an announcement before then. If he does wait, it would be setting up for him to be a big time steal for a program. [player_tooltip player_id="30763" first="Jason" last="Klauck"], DL- Kiel Jason is a fun athlete to watch at the DE position. He is an impressive athlete with some nice quick twitch to his game. His quickness is what really sets him apart. The way he can quickly slide laterally and his initial first step give him the edge over the players trying to block him. Having that quickness while also being 6’4" 235 lbs makes it hard to contain him on the edge. It’s not just the quickness that catches my eyes, however. He has the strength paired with the hand use to create consistent separation from offensive linemen. Whether he is getting his hands inside the chest of offensive linemen and punching them off to create separation or it is through his hand fighting, Jason does a good job of giving himself room to get around offensive linemen. It doesn’t seem like Jason has a ton of twitter activity, but from what I can tell he is still available making him one of the best available DL in the state. [player_tooltip player_id="30926" first="Colton" last="Hougom"], OL- Onalaska Colton is a very interesting prospect. I am a huge fan of his game, but I wasn't aware of him until this fall when I was able to catch a game of his in person. Ever since then, I have really enjoyed his game and the product he is putting on film. I look at Colton as a player with possibly the most potential at the offensive line position in the state. He has the athleticism and the power combination that will clearly transfer to the next level. His technique in the pass game and the run game are sound and consistent. Where the potential comes in is that he is currently 6'3" 235 lbs. For the position, he will need to add more size to succeed. That is why I am such a big fan. His frame looks like it can hold the necessary weight that he will need to add. Also, to think of the potential ability he could have with that much more size and strength makes me think he should be a hot name eventually. I will definitely be following along as I haven't seen anything posted on his twitter about commitments, yet. [player_tooltip player_id="30797" first="Brayden" last="Baumgartner"], DL- Edgar Brayden is another player that I have become a fan of throughout the season, emphasized at the end of the season when I was able to catch his final game of the season. I love the traits he brings to the table and based off his twitter it looks like the D2 level has taken notice too. The 6'4" 215 lbs DE plays with some eye opening burst and quickness out of his stance. It allows him to shoot through gaps with ease and then make plays in the backfield. It is impressive to see how quickly he flies around from the DE position while also remaining under control. Brayden is a prospect that will need to continue to fill out to succeed at the next level at the DE position, but when he does that he should be able to wreck havoc for a team. With increased size and strength paired with his burst and play speed Brayden has the tools to be an impact player down the road for a team. [player_tooltip player_id="31000" first="Brock" last="Ward"], OL- Appleton East Ever since the Prep Redzone Wisconsin Showcase back in early December I have been a big fan of Brock. At that event he demonstrated his technique and body control to go along with the power to handle pass rushers in the one on one battles. Then when I went to his film I was further blown away. Coming in at 6'4" 285 lbs, Brock is an intimidating presence and when you watch him in game action move, pull, and make blocks in space or the second level you clearly see that he uses that body control and technique well. His strength was even better than I expected from what I saw at the Showcase. He dominates defenders. Ward easily overpowers his opponents and steers them where he wants them to go and then finishes them violently. It is shaping up for Ward to be a steal for a program. I can't wait to see who the lucky program is. [player_tooltip player_id="30885" first="Alec" last="Swinehart"], DL- Arrowhead Swinehart is another athlete on this list that I was able to watch live this season and I wasn't disappointed. Alec has the frame to develop at 6'2" and 225 lbs. I don't think he needs to add a ton more size for him to be effective. Maybe 15-20 lbs at the most. Alec wins a lot of reps with his quickness and maneuverability. He picks through the trash at times almost like an LB the way he can avoid pulling linemen and make plays in the backfield because of it. That quickness off the snap turns into some really nice play speed as he can consistently rush around the edge of offensive linemen with his flexibility and that speed. It puts a lot of pressure on the opposing lineman to get depth quickly. That allows Alec to counter back inside. Alec is going to be another steal for a program. Based off his twitter he does have some D2 interest/offer. I can't wait to see his decision.
