The 2023 player rankings were recently updated and the next group of players up for review are the Offensive Linemen. The players listed are amongst the best in their class:
<strong>State Rank: 9 – POS[Rank] #1. [player_tooltip player_id="44985" first="Connor" last="Drake"], 6’6” 290. Providence HS.</strong> He is a big lineman who comes out of his stance quickly to contact the defender. He quickly drives the defender out of the play into the second level of the defense. A dominant force on straight-line blocking. The high level of play is expected to continue during the upcoming season.
<strong>State Rank: 13 – POS[Rank] #2. [player_tooltip player_id="101723" first="Luke" last="Rector"], 6’4” 300. Draughn HS.</strong> He comes quickly out of his stance to contact the defender. He manhandles the defender, often resulting in a high number of pancake blocks. He is quick and agile for his size and will continue to get better. He had a strong performance at the VTO Sports All-American Challenge at IMG Academy. The expectations are high as he prepares for the season.
<strong>State Rank: 52 – POS[Rank] #3. [player_tooltip player_id="44996" first="Josh" last="Moraja"], 6’2” 215. Weddington HS.</strong> He displayed solid technique and skills while playing on the offensive line. He will get better as his strength and size increases to improve his level of play on the offensive line. He is expected to be a steady performer during the upcoming season.
