2023 Prep RedZone Arkansas Newcomers
In this article:
We recently updated the 2023 Prep RedZone Arkansas rankings. We have added plenty of newcomers to the rankings and are going to be adding more throughout the spring and summer. The 2023 class may not have the attention that the 2022 class does. However, that spotlight will turn to the 2023 class quickly over the next few months. Let’s get to some of the newcomers to keep an eye on over the next few months.
Luke King Luke King 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Hazen | 2023 State AR -Quarterback-Hazen
One player that moved into the rankings on this go around is the extremely impressive quarterback for Hazen High School, Luke King Luke King 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Hazen | 2023 State AR . King reads coverages well and he has the arm strength to make any throw needed. He does a great job on throwing the deep ball and he puts his wide receivers in good positions to make the reception. King does an impressive job of extending the play by using his legs. He is not afraid to escape the pocket and extend drives with the use of his legs. King is going to be a recruit that scouts are going to want to keep an eye on, as his career progresses. King has tremendous potential and I look forward to watching him over the next few years.
Isiah Kendall Isiah Kendall 6'5" | 180 lbs | WR Newport | 2023 State AR -Wide Receiver-Newport
The state of Arkansas is never at a shortage for talented wide receivers and that statement applies to Isiah Kendall Isiah Kendall 6'5" | 180 lbs | WR Newport | 2023 State AR . Kendall is a big play threat from anywhere on the field for the Greyhounds. Kendall uses his 6-5 frame well and he is a consistent red zone target for Greyhounds. Kendall uses his athletic ability well to create separation and is going to be a weapon for the Newport coaching staff to use over the next few years. Kendall is going to be a wide receiver that I expect scouts to pay attention over the next year. He is a talented wide receiver, and he has the size that will cause problems at the next level.
Amarie Rogers Amarie Rogers 6'4" | 220 lbs | TE Maumelle | 2023 State AR -Tight End-Maumelle
Versatility is a term that is going to follow Amarie Rogers Amarie Rogers 6'4" | 220 lbs | TE Maumelle | 2023 State AR over the next few years. Rogers is 6-4 and 235 pounds; however, he has the frame to support more weight and will get bigger over the next few years. Rogers is going to be a good weapon that the Maumelle coaching staff can use effectively over the next few years. He is a consistent red zone target, and he uses his size and athletic ability well. Rogers is a willing blocker, and he is more than willing to throw a block to spring a teammate into the open. Rogers is a player that has tremendous potential, and he has the talent to make some noise in recruiting circles over the next few years.
Deontae Young Deontae Young 6'4" | 270 lbs | DL North Little Rock | 2023 State AR -Defensive Line/Linebacker-North Little Rock
Deontae Young Deontae Young 6'4" | 270 lbs | DL North Little Rock | 2023 State AR played the linebacker position last season for North Little Rock. He is quick to the ballcarrier and uses his speed well to get into the opponent’s backfield. He has good size for the linebacker or defensive end positions. Young is a solid tackler and looks to wrap up the ballcarrier, rather than try to deliver a big hit. He is a player that could play other position at the next level. His height is 6-3 and he weighs 250 pounds. Young could play the defensive end, defensive tackle, or the linebacker positions. The potential is there, all Young needs to continue to do is continue to work and put the effort out there.
