2021 Corky Kell Classic Games We’re Already Excited For

Not too long ago, Corky Kell released it’s slate of games that are to be played at the start of Georgia’s 2021 football season. Often times, these "Corky Kell Classic" games feature some of the most exciting teams in the state, in match ups that can set the tone for the season for each of the teams competing. Along with this, these games draw a ton of attention and excitement that only make the moment even better. While we know that we are quite a few months out from these games, as they are to be played in August, we are already super stoked for some of these match ups in particular, and couldn’t help but to share. Below, we have listed a few of the games we are looking forward to the most. <strong>Buford vs North Cobb</strong> What’s not to be excited about within this upcoming match up? To start, these teams will be facing off in what can be viewed as a rematch of their game last season. When these teams previously met, North Cobb saw themselves victorious with a final score of 28-14. Buford used this as fuel, as they went on to win 13 games straight, including their state championship title. This year, Buford will also be looking to even the score with a big time win to start the season. They have key players such as [player_tooltip player_id="33896" first="Jake" last="Pope"], [player_tooltip player_id="95443" first="Victor" last="Venn"], and Ryland Green that will be returning to help make the offense as explosive as it always has been. To their disadvantage though, they will also be featuring a star studded lineup on North Cobb’s side of the field. This includes QB, [player_tooltip player_id="34008" first="Malachi" last="Singleton"], DE, Joshua Josephs, and CB Quentin Ajiero. Regardless of the outcome of this upcoming game, it has all the components of what could easily become a classic. <strong>Brookwood vs Collins Hill</strong> Out of the entire slate of Corky Kell classic games set to take place this upcoming August, we are most excited for the match up between Brookwood and Collins Hill. In this match up, there are plenty of highly touted recruiting prospects to keep an eye on. This fact alone will ultimately result in plenty of big plays, and high quality football. College coaches are bound to go crazy with excitement watching, as Brookwood will be returning the likes of DB, [player_tooltip player_id="33860" first="Marquis" last="Groves-Killebrew"], QB, Dylan Longergan, and WR, Denylon Morrissette. On the other side of the field, Collins Hill will also be returning plenty of their star plays, including the likes of CB, [player_tooltip player_id="33861" first="Travis" last="Hunter"], QB, Samuel Horn, and DB [player_tooltip player_id="94016" first="Christian" last="Harris"], who will each be looking to make some noise of their own. The results of this game, if used to each of these team’s advantage, can certainly send them each on a trajectory of success for the rest of the season. Expect this to be one of the best games of the season. <strong>Archer vs Westlake</strong> The upcoming match up between Archer and Westlake is another game that will be filled with plenty of talented prospects. To start, Archer will certainly see success in this game, and in their upcoming season from players such as WR, DJ Moore, and RB, Chase Sellers, who will each be looking to light it up for their offense. On the defensive side of the ball, [player_tooltip player_id="95468" first="Caleb" last="Wooden"] will also be returning, and will hope to return to dominating form for his team. For Westlake, the Lions will be looking to start off the season with a big win, and have another successful season in 2021, following their unexpected high level of success in 2020. Returning defensive players such as CB, [player_tooltip player_id="34007" first="Avieon" last="Terrell"], and DE, [player_tooltip player_id="33867" first="Horace" last="Lockett"] will look to continue the Lions’ defensive dominance. On the offensive side of the ball for the Lions, led by QB, RJ Johnson, the offense will almost certainly look to make it a competitive game due to its speed, and flashy play making ability.
