Fans, coaches, and scouts always are interested to see what quarterbacks are coming down the pipeline in the state of Arkansas. The class of 2023 has three quarterbacks which are developing into division one prospects. [player_tooltip player_id="75130" first="Cedric" last="Simmons"], [player_tooltip player_id="75133" first="Eli" last="Wisdom"], and [player_tooltip player_id="75139" first="Floyd" last="Williams"] are all names that are going to become common over the next few years. We will examine all three quarterbacks briefly and get a glimpse of what could be a big 2021 season for all three.
The Malvern Leopards have one of the most dangerous quarterbacks in the state. Simmons is a dangerous rusher and does an excellent job extending plays with his legs. However, he has a strong, accurate arm. Simmons has the arm strength to fit the ball into some tight areas. He has already earned an offer from the University of Kansas. With recruiting just getting going for the class of 2023, Simmons will pick up more offers and the best is yet to come for the young signal caller out of Malvern.
Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="75133" first="Eli" last="Wisdom"] with the Shiloh Christian Saints has already accomplished a great deal in his career. Wisdom is a dual threat quarterback that is just as dangerous running the football as he is passing the football. Wisdom rushed for 1,464 yards and 24 touchdowns last season. From a passing perspective, Wisdom was even more impressive. Wisdom threw for 2,125 yards and 23 touchdowns last season. The Saints with Wisdom distributing the football were able to rack up a state championship. Wisdom is going to be a player that sees his recruiting take off over the next few years. The young man is simply too talented to overlook.
The third quarterback we are going to examine is [player_tooltip player_id="75139" first="Floyd" last="Williams"] out of Gosnell. Williams is another quarterback that will use his legs to make a play and extend a drive. He is dangerous in the open field, but what stands out the most is he does a great job of finding the rushing lanes. He throws well on the run and seems extremely comfortable keeping his eyes down field as he is scrambling. Williams is going to be a player that continues to develop and give opposing defensive coordinators plenty of headaches over the next few years. He has a strong arm and is not shy about fitting passes into tight situations. Williams is going to be a player to watch over the offseason. He has plenty of potential and he is another 2023 quarterback that will explode on to the recruiting scene.
