Southwest Prairie Conference: Top Defenders – West Division

Today we will be taking a look at the Top Defenders heading into this season for the Southwest Prairie Conference West Division. The West Division has six teams: Minooka, Oswego, Oswego East, Plainfield North, West Aurora, and Yorkville. <hr /> <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em><strong>Minooka:</strong></em></span> <img class=" wp-image-57678 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2020/10/Zach-Wingerter-200x300.jpg" alt="" width="165" height="248" /> Mason Cave (2021) - Cave plays OLB for Minooka, he sets the edge, gets in the backfield, and re-routes receivers. He gets it done in coverage, plays hard, and drives the ballcarrier to the ground. He sets the edge and is an overall aggressive player who makes plays for this defensive unit. He has quick acceleration to him which helps him cover sideline to sideline and isn't afraid to lower his shoulder. He gets pressure on the QB, gets hands up deflecting passes, and gets off blocks to make the tackle. Egly is a dominant player for this defensive unit and one who is going to be a force to be reckoned on the next level as well.
