Recruiting has now become so specialized that any and every “stone” is fair game when you happen to be recruiting against some of the elite schools in the nation.
No matter what class the athlete may be in – this is time of year that they will be looking for publicity and exposure.
With the season finished throughout the country, it is now officially the off-season, and with this pandemic still gripping many of us, the camps, combines and 7-on-7 events will still happen in many places, but you can almost guarantee that they will all be watched closely until the vaccine becomes available for all.
The one thing we do during the off-season, is provide information on players and teams that we see LIVE. This Covid-controlled season, we still managed to get in 75 different games – with as many as seven doubleheaders – ensuring that we will see those prospects that fans are asking questions about. It has always been that way.
While we will run our list for the top players in the classes, there are so many athletes that people just do not see – and from our camp, combine and 7-on-7 visits, we will be able to uncover athletes that many have never heard about.
Also, there are current seniors who didn’t get the looks they deserved – and obviously – the pandemic had everything to do with it.
We hope you enjoy our coverage of all Florida high school football year-round.
THE WARD FILE
NAME: Myron Ward
CLASS: 2022
SCHOOL: Tallahassee Rickards
POSITION: OG
HEIGHT: 6-2
WEIGHT: 280
THE SCOOP: There is no doubt that finding solid big men is never an easy thing to do.
In today’s game, offensive linemen have become such a vital part of the way offenses move these days.
Watching this impressive talent over the past year, you can see so much improvement – and the way the Raiders played this year – the line was first place that this team gave credit to for elevating the overall play.
In the big games down the stretch, you can see how much Ward matured, learned and was able to set himself up for his final year – where plenty of interest will be paid.
To have the opportunity to compete for a state title in your backyard, is exactly what this quality football talent needed – to thrust himself into the spotlight.
While the off-season is expected to be busy for the entire 5A state runner ups, it will be equally as important for Ward, who will continue to showcase his skill level at the guard position.
