Referenced here are the state’s top underclassmen. Individuals project as 1st Team All-State Offensive and Defensive athletes. Have a look at the O followed by the D tomorrow.
OREGON 1ST TEAM OFFENSE- ALL UNDERCLASSMEN
QB [player_tooltip player_id="28837" first="Brian" last="Mannion"] 22’ Mountainside- If the season was played like normal, Mannion would already have a handful of D1 offers. Expect him to blow up in the coming months and be one of the top ranked QB’s in the West.
RB Donald Stephens 23’ Grant- Stephens is a special back who most people aren’t aware of yet. He has the potential of being one of the best backs to come out of Oregon in some time.
RB [player_tooltip player_id="28845" first="Royce" last="Fasel"] 22’ Glencoe- Fasel was the only Sophomore to earn all-state honors at the 6A level. He projects on D collegiately but will be a dominant RB over the next few seasons
WR [player_tooltip player_id="28833" first="Darrius" last="Clemons"] 22’ Westview- One of the nation’s most offered athletes for the class of 2022. When all is said and done Clemons will most likely be one of Oregon’s most decorated athletes ever.
WR [player_tooltip player_id="28839" first="Jordan" last="King"] 22’ Central Catholic- As stated numerous times King could end up being a 20+ offer D1 athlete, with his versatility allowing him to play 3-4 different positions at the highest level.
WR [player_tooltip player_id="28836" first="Keenan" last="Speer-Johnson"] 22’ Tigard- KSJ will be a double digit D1 offer athlete, but with [player_tooltip player_id="28700" first="Drew" last="Carter"] early enrolling at Colorado it’s unclear how effective they will be getting him the ball.
ATH [player_tooltip player_id="28834" first="Aaron" last="Jones"] 22’ Westview- Already with a handful of D1 offers, Jones is one of the most exciting athletes on the West Coast, and a threat to go to the house anytime he is in space.
ATH Kaden Huppin 23’ Westview- From a testing standpoint Huppin is a freak. He should thrive in the Wildcats offense as they have too many athletes to double team the kids on the perimeter.
TE [player_tooltip player_id="28842" first="Jacob" last="Newell"] 22’ Thurston- One of the fastest rising recruits in the state. Newell’s stock has shot through the roof over the off season as he can play D at the highest level as well.
OL Joe Merlino 23’ Central Catholic- CC has produced some of the state’s top lineman over the last decade. Depending on continued growth Merlino could be another talent to come out of the school.
OL Nico Webb 22’ Tualatin- Not the biggest kid but one of the only Sophomores state wide to earn all-conference honors at the 6A level.
OL Elijah Markowitz 23’ Liberty- Markowitz has had sucess early, also training with the state’s top line coach Alex Linnenkohl of Line Pro.
OL [player_tooltip player_id="28847" first="Kale" last="Paslay"] 23’ Marist- As of right now Paslay projects on D after having an outstanding Sophomore season. That said as he could very well be one of the state’s best on O
C [player_tooltip player_id="28890" first="Austin" last="Leykam"] 22’ Lake Oswego- Leykam had a breakout season starting for LO as a Sophomore, and helping the team to the state title game. He gained valuable experience early and will be one of Oregon’s best.
