Here are five players from the Eight-Man Ranks who finished among the state tackle leaders.
LB, Trevor Zarybnicky, 6’3”, 245, Wheatland-Grinnell – Zarybnicky has a nose for the football. The speedy hard-hitting senior had 161 total tackles for the Thunderhawks. Twelve of those tackles were for a loss.
CB, Blake Perez, 5’9”, 160, St. John’s-Tipton – Perez is a defensive back who can cover and finish tackles. He finished with 145 tackles made during his senior campaign for Blujays.
CB, Brayden Perez, 5’9”, 165, St. John’s-Tipton – Brayden Perez finished with fewer tackles than his brother, but still racked up an impressive total of 141. His future might just be on the offensive side of the football as he rushed for 24 touchdowns and 1,200-plus yards in 2020.
LB, Wyatt Eberle, 6’1”, 175, Lakeside– Eberle finished his senior season with 139 tackles. He also forced three fumbles and recovered another for the Knights. Eberle is also a talented basketball player for Lakeside.
LB, George Volle, 5’10”, 160, Axtell – Volle likes to hit ball carries. He finished his senior campaign with 119 tackles. Ten of those tackles were for loss and he finished with nine quarterback sacks for the Eagles. Volle is looking for his college offer.
None of these players have committed and are deserving of a look by college recruiters.
