A massive group of prospects showed to Crown Point, IN at the SpartaDome and competed all afternoon. I have already looked at my top performers from every position group on hand, but those weren’t the only players who had impactful moments. So, here are some quick notes on prospects that flashed during the showcase on Monday. 2022 linebacker Noah Rapinchuk, Downers Grove South, IL (6’2 and 199lbs) @NoahRapinchuk12 Great size for a linebacker, good bend and moves well. Need to see more but liked what I saw briefly. 2023 Defensive back Ajani Rush, Hillcrest, IL (5’9” and 169lbs) @RushAjani An absolute burner, showed solid hips and footwork. If he grows a few more inches, watch out! 2022 Defensive back Kameron Lewis, Palatine, IL (6’ and 170lbs) @Kam_prospect1 Great size and length, always up for the challenge against bigger receivers. Takes good angles and always goes for the ball. 2023 Defensive back [player_tooltip player_id="65879" first="Noah" last="Taylor"], Lemont, IL (6’ and 185lbs) @nbt2234 Good speed and technique, is getting better each time I see him. A hard worker who has a bright future. 2022 Linebacker Mohammad Khalil, Lemont, IL (5’10” and 185lbs) @momo_khalil12 A hard worker with a wrestling background, that keeps getting better. Needs a spring season to really see improvement his hard work paying off. 2023 Wide receiver Grant Larkin, Nequa Valley, IL (6’ and 175lbs) @GrantLarkin1 Has a skill set you’d see out of a player who is much older. Athletic with strong hands and runs good routes. 2023 Wide receiver Dakotah Mayo, Christian Brothers, MO (5’10” and 160lbs) @DakotahMayo Small but shifty, has tons of upside as a slot if he says that size. Could add on some weight and is speedy. 2022 Wide receiver Chris Brooks, St. Louis University HS, MO (6’3” and 210lbs) @chris_brooksjr2 Huge frame who ran routes very well. Great hands and has the ability to high point the ball. 2022 Wide receiver Isaiah Romano, Wheeling, IL (5’9” and 140lbs) @IsaiahRomano3 Quick feet but undersized, Romano shows solid hands a good routes. Needs to add on some weight though. 2023 Wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id="65877" first="Ryan" last="Sims"], Marist, IL (6’3” and 195lbs) @RyanSims_ows Already possesses a college ready body, Sims has a big catch radius and body skills. He should be a P5 prospect when it’s all said and done. 2023 Wide receiver Charlie Specht, York, IL (6’2” and 160lbs) @SpechtCharlie Another long and wiry receiver who has a very solid skill set. Specht will need to add weight, but has the frame to do so. 2022 Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="65707" first="Keegan" last="Glover"], Benton, IL (6’ and 165lbs) @GloverKeegan Has taken the non-season in stride, getting to as many showcases and camps as possible. Great work ethic and improves each time I see him. 2023 Quarterback Ryan Dawson, Downers Grove, IL (6’3” and 195lbs) @ryan_dawson24 Great frame with a big arm, plays baseball as well. Timing is great, with a quick release and solid footwork. 2022 Quarterback Brandon McCoy, St. Laurence, IL (6’2” and 195lbs) @Brandon_G_McCoy The lefty has good footwork and a strong arm. Squares his shoulders well and is athletic. 2024 Quarterback Alessio Milivojevic, St. Francis HS, IL (6’ and 195lbs) @alessiomilivoj1 Big arm and frame for a freshman. Keeps getting better every time I see him. One to watch the next few years. https://twitter.com/mikefchen/status/1352700929137651714?s=21 2023 Tight end Nick Hawkins, Lemont, IL (6’5” and 240lbs) @Nick_Hawkinss Massive frame with plenty of room to grow. Solid routes with good hands. You have to wonder if he fills out, will he end up as a defensive end or maybe an offensive tackle. 2023 Tight end Mack O’Halloran, Downers Grove South, IL (6’4” and 220lbs) @MackOHalloran Huge frame that moves very well, another two-sport athlete. Great hands for a player who has a ton of upside. 2022 Tight end [player_tooltip player_id="65741" first="Chris" last="Petrucci"], Maine South, IL (6’5” and 210lbs) @ChrisPetrucci19 With a slighter frame, Petrucci uses it to out run slower defenders. Has a big catch radius and big upside. 2023 Running back Payton Young, Merrillville HS, IN (5’11” and 200lbs) @Payton_Young134 An absolute bruiser that won’t show at this kind of event, still gave a glimpse of good hands. Like the upside of this young back. 2022 Running back Benjamin McLaughlin, Warren Township, IL (5’10” and 210lbs) @BenMclaughlin44 Thick and quick, McLaughlin shows good hands and feet. Strong at the point of attack, when a season happens, people will notice the skill set. 2022 Offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id="20904" first="Paolo" last="Gennarelli"], St. Charles North, IL (6’3” and 275lbs) @Gennarelli2022 Doesn’t always standout due to his consistency but that’s the key. Does his job with good footwork and strong hands. 2022 Offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id="65763" first="Thomas" last="Hubbard"], Bartlett, IL (6’4” and 255lbs) @bubbahubbard1 Great frame that has room for growth. As he gets stronger and bigger, will becomes more of a force on the line. 2023 Offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id="20842" first="Paris" last="Patterson"], East St. Louis, IL (6’5” and 315lbs) @p_pattersonjr An absolute mauler on the line, Patterson more than held his own. Strength and footwork are good and will only get better as time goes on. 2023 Offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id="20847" first="Jacob" last="Welch"], Johnsburgh, IL (6’6” and 284lbs) @JacobWelch75 Welch holds his weight well, size and strength to do it all as a tackle. Very polished for such a young player. 2022 Defensive end [player_tooltip player_id="37643" first="Collin" last="Bell"], Christian Brothers College HS, MO (6’1” and 255lbs) @thereallcbell Great motor from the edge, could end up sliding down to tackle as he gets older. Still very good upside either way. 2023 Defensive tackle Chris Farrell, Lisle, IL (6’5” and 280lbs) @Chrisfarrell32 Massive frame at a young age, overpowers opponents. Does need to work on technique, but lots of upside when he does.
