COVID is playing havoc on recruiting for many juniors but here at the Prep Redzone, the recruiting and promotion of ascending football players NEVER stops. The following players used 2020 (their junior seasons) to put down as much good film as possible, if that was six or sixteen games. This class is stacked with talent at the defensive back position but here are a few that are moving up.

Not sure if this ranking is a failure by me as a scout or a testament to the play of Harris in 2020. The stud from Wentzville made plays on both sides of the football during his junior campaign. Watching his film made me fall in love with his toughness, his tackling ability and his range. His size (6’2, 180) leaves room for growth while at the same time is a recruitable frame. I expect major moves in the recruiting game of Harris in the near future.
DB [player_tooltip player_id="37567" first="Jordan" last="Coleman"], DeSmet Jesuit (No. 47 to No. 16 overall, No. 9 DB in 2020 preseason to No. 4)
The former SLUH DB stepped on the scene at DeSmet in 2020 and was a catalyst to the team’s runner up place in the state. Coleman never backed down from a challenge and lining up opposite Ohio State signee [player_tooltip player_id="37154" first="Jakailin" last="Johnson"], more than held his own. Coleman went toe to toe with some of the state’s best receivers and won a majority of the battles. Days after being highlighted by Prep Redzone, Coleman secured his first FBS offer.
DB [player_tooltip player_id="96763" first="Matthew" last="Hutson"], Liberty North (KC) (Unranked in the preseason to the No. 62 ranked player in the state and No. 10 DB)
Huston took over the secondary for Liberty North in 2020 and made plays all over the field. Playing mostly boundary corner, Hutson has a nose for the football and is a vicious tackler. The junior tracks the football with ease, is heady to route concepts and has above average speed. As a high level baseball player as well, Hutson will have his choice of colleges soon.
