CLL Top Defenders: Blue Division

Today we will be taking a look at the Top Defenders in the CCL Blue Division. These teams include Brother Rice, Marist, Mt. He's a hard hitter, gets in the backfield quickly, and fills holes in run support. Jones reacts to plays quickly and is more of a run stopper over a coverage MLB. Hudl: https://www.hudl.com/profile/9606475 Ryan Whelan - Whelan plays OLB/MLB, he gets in the backfield quickly, gets nice pressure on the QB, and reacts to plays quickly. He gets off of blocks to make the tackle by his use of hands at the line of scrimmage, he hits gaps hard and is quick off the line of scrimmage. Whelan has a good pass rush and is a solid run-stopper, he has an aggressive play-style that helps him overpower O-lineman. He's able to diagnose plays quickly, is a hard hitter, and is solid in coverage. Badke fills holes in run support with his aggressive play style and is one of many to keep an eye on for Brother Rice's defensive unit. He has solid footwork, diagnoses plays quickly which enables him to attack downhill. He has the ability to jump routes, deflect passes, and attack downhill. Marsh is also a solid return man and fills holes in run support. He is a hard hitter with a high motor which he uses when he attacks downhill, takes solid pursuit angles, and overpowers O-lineman. He's a solid player on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball and a solid overall player. He also gets to his pass coverage drops quickly by diagnosing the plays.
