Jalen Marshall Jalen Marshall 6'5" | 270 lbs | DL St. Thomas Aquinas | 2022 State KS had a great season in 2020 for St. Thomas Aquinas. He is the #1 ranked DL and the #4 ranked player overall in the class of 2022. Last year he made 48 tackles with 3 TFL, 3 sacks, 2 passes defensed and a fumble recovery. He plays as a DT lined up in a 3T. He shows good burst off the ball while using his long arms to beat the OG to the punch by delivering a powerful strike to stack the OG at the point of attack. He uses his very good play strength and physical toughness to bullrush the OG as well as his play speed and athletic ability as he executes a swim move. He keeps his eyes on the RB constantly and uses his play strength in his upper body, lower body and core to bring him down with force.

Landon Dean Landon Dean 6'4" | 230 lbs | DL Frontenac | 2022 State KS was tough to slow down on the DL for Frontenac in 2020. He is the #2 ranked DL and the #6 ranked player overall in the class of 2022. The 3 star DE currently has offers from Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Eastern Michigan and Iowa State. He lines up in a 5T and 7T. Show very good quickness off the ball and penetrates into the backfield within the first couple of steps beating the OT with his quickness and play speed. He uses his very good instincts to take the correct angle in pursuit of the RB and uses his play strength to bring down the RB with ease. As a pass rusher, he uses his play speed, motor and range effectively to pressure the QB and finishes up with a sack or a hurry.

Nathan Carter Nathan Carter 6'2" | 260 lbs | DL Wichita NW | 2022 State KS played very well for the Grizzlies of Wichita Northwest last season. He is the #3 ranked DL and the #17 ranked player in the class of 2022. In 2020, he made 37 tackles with 13 TFL, 3.5 sacks,1 Forced Fumble and 1 pass defensed. He plays as a NT. He uses his very good play strength to bullrush the C back into the QB, his very good use of hands to shed the block and throws the QB to the ground with ease for the sack. Against the run, he uses his instincts to feel the pressure from OG who are pulling on a trap or an A gap power, uses his play strength to stack them at the line of scrimmage while keeping his eyes on the RB, uses his physical toughness and play strength to shed the block and brings the RB down with force.

Collin is the #4 ranked DL and the 20th ranked player in the state in the class of 2022. He plays as a DE at both RDE and LDE where he lines up at the 5T and possesses good size with a lean build. At the snap, he fires off the ball, dips his shoulder and easily sheds the OT block using a rip move and uses his play speed and motor to chase down the QB. Effectively uses his very good play strength to bring the QB down with force for a sack. Against the run, he uses his football intelligence to quickly diagnose the play and uses his instincts to take the correct angle and his range to play sideline to sideline before delivering a powerful hit to the RB. While pressuring the QB, he is able to read the QB and time his jump and is able to bat the ball away.

Tai Newhouse Tai Newhouse 6'3" | 285 lbs | DL Lawrence Free State | 2022 State KS is the 5th ranked DL and the 46th ranked player overall in the class of 2022. He plays as a DE where he lines up in a 5T. He shows good burst off the ball, quickly shoots his hands with a powerful punch and quickly sheds the block from the OT. He uses his instincts to take the correct angle in pursuit of the RB while displaying great closing speed as he quickly gets to the ball carrier and uses his play strength and leverage as he drives through the RB to make the tackle. As a pass rusher, he is incredibly quick for his size as he displays the athletic ability to execute stunts and twists and beats the OG with his quickness and agility. He then uses his good play speed to close in on the QB forcing him to throw the ball quickly than he anticipated leading to an incomplete pass.
