Games can be won or lost in the battle of the trenches, and programs can always use more depth on the offensive-line. These are five unsigned linemen that can be difference makers in the trenches for college programs.
[player_tooltip player_id="35513" first="Hunter" last="Barlow"] – Haven, 6’3”, 295
This Haven Wildcat had himself an impressive senior year. Barlow’s huge frame and strength helped him put a lot of defenders on their backs this past season. One things for sure about this young man; he doesn’t give up on his blocks. His performance throughout the season earned him a spot on the 2A All-State Team, and 1st Team Offensive-line for 2A All-District 5. So far, he’s flown under the radar during the recruiting season. This needs to change. Recruiters should give him a chance.
[player_tooltip player_id="49764" first="Denver" last="Gardner"] – Spring Hill, 6’3”, 260
Gardner’s skills were on full display in 2020. His first step at the tackle position is impressive. He fires off the ball quick and does a good job of setting the edge in the run game. His play didn’t go unnoticed, as he was named to the 5A All-State Team, and he’s received a selection to the Kansas Shrine Bowl. Gardner could make an impact for many collegiate programs.
[player_tooltip player_id="35527" first="Carter" last="Stanchfield"] – Paola, 6’3”, 270
Stanchfeild’s physicality and quickness jump out on his film. He explodes off the line and does a good job of beating defenders to the edge. Stanchfield is a member of the 4A All-State Team, and he’s also earned an invitation to the Kansas Shrine Bowl. It seems he hasn’t received much attention from recruiters as of right now. Any program would be lucky to add this young man to their offensive-line though.
[player_tooltip player_id="35423" first="Titus" last="Tuiasosopo"] – Wamego, 6’2”, 290
Tuiasosopo has next level talent written all over him. He shows good footwork, and has the size and strength to drive defenders back. One of the most impressive things about him is his ability to play multiple positions on the offensive-line. His play this past season earned him NCKL 1st Team offensive-line. College programs could definitely use his versatility.
[player_tooltip player_id="35412" first="Drew" last="French"] – Lansing, 6’1”, 265
French put together a nice career during his time at Lansing. He earned 1st Team All-Conference honors twice, and he was named to the 4A All-State Team his senior year. French can be a valuable player for a collegiate program because of his ability to play both tackle and guard positions. College programs would be getting a solid addition to their offensive-line if they offered him.
