During this series of articles, we have discovered the state of Arkansas is deep at the wide receiver position for the class of 2022. The class of 2022 has talent all over the field, however, the wide receiver position is what is sticking out along the skilled positions. In this article we continue our look at the 2022 class of wide receivers.
Little Rock Parkview has impressive talent and is a dangerous team to contend with every football season. The receiving corps for the Patriots is a dangerous one and that brings [player_tooltip player_id="92759" first="Jalon" last="Smith"] to forefront in this article. The first detail that stands out regarding Smith is that he is not brought down on initial contact. Several defenders are what it takes to bring Smith down. He is always fighting for extra yardage and makes opposing defenses work. Smith has good hands, and he has the speed to stretch the field and cause problems for the opposing defense.
Meanwhile, the town of Stuttgart over in the Delta has seen a resurgence of talented football players take the field again. Wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id="92749" first="Arlie" last="Lee"] is a big play threat for Stuttgart. He is a threat to score from anywhere on the field. The Stuttgart coaching staff gets creative with Lee. He has the speed to be used on wide receiver sweeps and is an effective in the open field. Lee has the potential to move up the rankings over the course of the offseason. The young man is a red zone threat, and his athletic ability gives him the advantage over opposing defensive backs.
The McGehee Owls have two tremendously talented wide receivers that have caused opposing defenses plenty of problems over the past few years. Both [player_tooltip player_id="92745" first="AJ" last="Jordan"] and [player_tooltip player_id="92904" first="Jac" last="Cox"] give the Owls a dangerous combination at the wide receiver position. Jordan is one of those wide receivers that high point the football in any kind of weather conditions and make it look easy. Cox is a great route runner that creates separation. Both Cox and Jordan can turn it up a notch to leave defenders behind them. Each McGehee wide receiver is going to be a sought-after player in the recruiting battles and each one will be playing on Saturdays.
Closing out the fourth article over the 2022 wide receivers is Fayetteville wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id="94925" first="Jalen" last="Blackburn"]. The Bulldogs have a talented position grouping at the wide receiver position. Blackburn can stretch the field and he works with well Fayetteville quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="75105" first="Bladen" last="Fike"]. Blackburn has good hands and runs very consistent routes. He is able to create separation from the opposing defenders. Fayetteville has the potential to have several division one prospects in the receiving corps.
