2022 State of Arkansas Wide Receivers Part Five

One thing that has become clear as we have examined the wide receivers for the 2022 class is that it is a talented class. We close out our examination of the wide receiver’s class for the state of Arkansas with this article. However, the next position group that we will examine is going to be the quarterbacks as we continue this series of looking at just how deep the talent pool is in the state of Arkansas. Starting things off with [player_tooltip player_id="75124" first="Kavon" last="Pointer"], an explosive wide receiver out of Jonesboro. Pointer has good speed which allows him to create separation in his route running. I have come away impressed with his hands and how he does not allow the ball to get into his body. Pointer is a deep threat for Jonesboro and is someone that can stretch the field. He shows a willingness to run routes across the middle and is not afraid to get hit if it means extending a drive. Pointer is someone to keep an eye on as seven-on-seven play gets going. Meanwhile, the Prescott Curly Wolves have a talented receiver in the form of [player_tooltip player_id="93031" first="Jacaylon" last="Zachery"]. The Prescott coaching staff does an excellent job of lining Zachery up all over the field on the offensive side of the ball. He has excellent speed and is a nightmare to attempt to bring down in the open field. Zachery does much of his damage the slot position. He works well going across the middle and can serve as a deep threat in the right system. Zachery has the potential to have a big 2021 season and explode on to the recruiting radar. [player_tooltip player_id="99343" first="Alex" last="Jenkins"] out of Hamburg is another wide receiver that is extremely versatile. He is difficult to bring down and will not be brought down on initial contact. Jenkins has worked as the quarterback, running back, and wide receiver in Hamburg’s system. He has the ability to turn it up a notch and leave defenders behind him. He is a playmaker with the ball in his hands and is a nightmare to bring down in the open field. Jenkins is one player that could explode at the next level given the right opportunity. Benton wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id="99414" first="Andre" last="Lane"] is a slot wide receiver that is a threat to take it the distance from anywhere on the field. He shows good ability in running his routes and is very crisp. Lane is not afraid to work over the middle and does a good job of hauling in the reception while getting hit. The Benton coaching staff makes good use of Lane. The Panthers have Lane working on special teams, running the ball, and as a wide receiver. Lane has excellent potential, and he will cause headaches for defensive coordinators on Saturdays. We are going to close out our look at wide receivers for the class of 2022 with [player_tooltip player_id="92739" first="Carter" last="Martin"] out of Malvern. Martin is a player that is always working his way back to his quarterback when the play breaks down. He works effectively in his routes and he shows good instincts on when to break off a route. Martin is a deep threat, and he has a habit of making the tough receptions look easy. Martin is another player that has the potential to become a consistent player on Saturdays.
