Please take a look at some of the newcomers from the East River region of South Dakota from our updated Class of 2022 rankings!
[player_tooltip player_id="77458" first="De’Andre" last="Joseph"], DB/LB, Sioux Falls Roosevelt
Eval: Joseph comes into our rankings as a top 40 prospect that fills the need for a combo linebacker and safety. Joseph’s ability to be an asset wherever he lines up gives the Rough Riders some versatility in the secondary. His ability to come off the edge and be physical with bigger linemen is also a nice touch. He does a really nice job shedding blocks very quickly. Joseph has solid measurables for the safety position, and I look forward to seeing his safety film grow more in coverage in the coming year or so.

[player_tooltip player_id="93087" first="Jaxon" last="Bowes"], QB, Brookings
Eval: Bowes, a newly ranked top 30 prospect, gives the Bobcats a solid ball thrower at the helm that some folks will see more of next season. He has some wiggle in his step to make plays with his legs and arm strength that he can go pretty deep with. A rarity to see a quarterback that is also a high school wrestler, which might be why I’m not surprised he’s thrown a few blocks on tape!

[player_tooltip player_id="93089" first="Bodie" last="Rutledge"], OL, Yankton
Eval: As a top 50 prospect, Rutledge does a solid job of pushing the Bucks' pile forward on the offensive line. He finishes his blocks well, engaged in putting his defender on their rear end. There is not a doubt in my mind this kid will be a stock riser in our next rankings update.

[player_tooltip player_id="93086" first="Reece" last="Proefrock"], WR/DB, Vermillion
Eval: Proefrock checked in as a top 30 prospect and #4 amongst wide receivers. Proefrock is a slippery player that you’ll see on a large number of screen routes, and he’ll use his quick-twitch and burst to turn those plays into first downs quite easily. Proefrock also does have some rawness in his game, as one that could see his potential rise as he adds more mid to deep catches to his film in the coming year. Great measurables at the wide receiver position.

[player_tooltip player_id="93076" first="Kaden" last="Klumb"], QB/DB, Bridgewater-Emery
Eval: Klumb was a nice addition to the top 80 for the Class of 2022. His two-way skill set projects better in my opinion as a defensive back, but I think he has some potential at quarterback if he works further on his throwing mechanics. Good at reading where the ball is coming in the secondary.

Aidan Erickson, RB, Elkton-Lake Benton
Eval: Erickson just snuck onto our rankings, but I believe has a high ceiling to improve his stock. A "do it all" prospect for the Elks that has some pretty good feet when he needs to adjust his angle he’s running at. Good vision at finding the ball carrier in the backfield. Not the biggest kid on the field (5’9) but makes a ton of plays just about everywhere.

[player_tooltip player_id="77449" first="Cam" last="Jones"], DL, Sioux Falls Roosevelt
Eval: Saving the best for last, Jones stock exploded last season and he made his way into our top 5 with our most updated 2022 rankings. The way Jones comes in pursuit, I would hate to be a quarterback in the Eastern SD Conference because his motor is off the charts. Every tackle he makes is with a physicality level and his quick ability to shed of blocks is extremely quick. This kid already has a Division II offer, but don’t be surprised if you see Jones at the Division I level as I’ll chart him as "my biggest miss" in our inaugural rankings here in the Dakotas. Comes from a great family tree of football pedigree.
