Unbreakable Indy Workout
In this article:
On December 22nd, I fueled up and headed out to the suburbs of Indianapolis, Plainfield, to be exact, and Unbreakable Athletics Academy. A massive facility run by former collegiate strength coaches from across multiple levels of athletics. Big thanks to Jim and his staff for having me out & I really look forward to coming back soon! Here’s who stood out from yesterday’s workout!
ATH: Justin Browder, Cardinal Ritter, 5’10, 185, JR
Browder plays all over the football field, and that very athleticism was on display yesterday afternoon. He showed impressive burst and acceleration during the flying ten portion of the workout. This young man has impressive body control and can make catches out of awkward body positions. He played some quarterback in 2020 and flashed as a runner on the ground. To me, he’s a defensive back at the next level. He shows a ton of playmaking ability on film and great footwork in press coverage.
LB: Jack Beebe Jack Beebe 6'2" | 215 lbs | ATH Plainfield | 2021 State IN , Plainfield, 6’1, 210, SR
This was my first time seeing Jack in person, and man, was I impressed by how cut up he was for a high school kid. This is one kid who you can tell spends a ton of time in the weight room, which is why he lifts with the offensive linemen. You could see the sheer force he generates on his tire flips. On-film, he doubled as both a linebacker and wide receiver. Honestly, I think his wide receiver film could be more impressive than his linebacker tape. On tape, he was double moving kids left & right and running by cornerbacks. However, based on his body type, size and speed, I think he’ll put on fifteen pounds before he enrolls and play sam linebacker at the next level.
LB: Clay Peters, Avon, 5’10, 215, SR
Peters is a smaller linebacker from a vertical stature standpoint, but he’s rock solid when you see him in person. This kid plays angry on tape, and the way he moves weight is pretty similar to that. As a senior, he totaled 104 tackles, to go along with 12 TFL’s, and the kid was smacking kids left & right on tape. He showed good build up speed on the flying ten and made his weight on the push press move almost effortlessly. I think a small school needs to come in and lock this kid down. If he was a few inches taller, he would not be available right now; you better believe that.
OL: Aaron Roberts Aaron Roberts 6'4" | 280 lbs | OL Cardinal Ritter | 2021 State IN , Cardinal Ritter, 6’4, 295, SR
This is a big kid who currently holds a PWO from Purdue and is still waiting to make a decision on where he’ll attend college. For a guy 6’4, 295, Roberts moves exceptionally well off the ball. He had a solid time on the flying ten with a 1.27 and looked pretty explosive on the box jump portion. On-film, he does a good job of getting lock-out on defenders and plays with good knee bend. He’s a gifted pass protector who can slide back and forth with ease and won’t over-set in his kick set.
ATH: Noah Hessong, Plainfield, 5’10, 175, SO
The young gun of the group, but a kid with a bright future ahead of him. Noah, isn’t going to wow you with his size, but make no mistake, the kid can play. As a sophomore, he doubled as wide receiver and defensive back for Plainfield’s varsity squad. He’s a possession type receiver out of the slot who knows how to get north and south quickly. For a smaller prospect, Hessong is physical after the catch and rarely gets tackled by one person. His junior tape is going to be crucial to his recruitment, but I think he’s bound for a big season next fall.
