There was many different types of QB’s across the state, scramblers, pocket passers, and athletes. This article, I will be highlighting the top QB’s in the state that still do not have a home next season.
Jack Teigen Jack Teigen 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Harrisburg | 2021 State – Harrisburg
This kid had a great Junior Season for the Tigers in 2019, unfortunately, for Teigen, a young Jacob Knuth Jacob Knuth 6'4" | 205 lbs | QB Harrisburg | 2022 State stepped up to the plate and led the Tigers in 2020. Colleges in need of a QB should still give Teigen a look based on his skill-set. He has a great arm, in his highlights he threw at least four bombs or more a game of 40+ yards and completed them. He is also a good decision maker, goes through his reads and makes the better choice on whether to pass or run. He was able to squeeze the ball into some tight windows down field, also does well keeping his eyes downfield on a rollout and gets the ball to his receiver quickly.
Teegan Schlimgen Teegan Schlimgen 5'11" | 175 lbs | QB SF O'Gorman | 2021 State – O’Gorman
Schlimgen was a good pocket passer for the O’Gorman Knights. He had an amazing group of athletes surrounding him at WR, TE and a dynamic duo in the backfield at RB. He did a good job keeping the offense in a steady flow for most the season. He made a lot of big throws in key situations throughout the year and orchestrated some big drives as well. He has a good arm for tight-window throws, especially on the sideline. He also has good pocket presence and a good internal clock on when to run as well.
Kohl Meisman Kohl Meisman 6'6" | 185 lbs | QB RC Central | 2021 State – Rapid City Central
Meisman has had some good training at QB, he seems very comfortable taking snaps. He doesn’t look overly anxious to force a throw, he seems very calm when he makes throws, deep, medium or short. He also has good pocket presence, keeps his eyes downfield and waits until the last possible second before he takes off. He is a great runner, but he wants to throw the ball, he extends the play with his legs and gets the ball in an area for his WR to make plays. Even under pressure he looks calm while scrambling before he throws or runs the ball, does really well in his offense.
Cayden Eisemann Cayden Eisemann QB Mobridge Pollock | 2021 State – Mobridge-Pollock
Eisemann led the way on a high-firepower offense, throws a ball with some good touch on it. He was definitely a pocket passer, stayed in the pocket to make a lot of his throws. Eisemann was efficient when throwing, making high percentage passes to his open receivers, did not force passes. He could also run the read option as well, he turned into a RB in that offense, dishing out contact and showed a great burst of speed carrying the ball.
Mason Mathieu Mason Mathieu 6'0" | 175 lbs | QB Tril Valley | 2021 State – Tri-Valley
Mathieu ran a fast-pace offense, scrambling most the time, or taking designed QB runs. He did a good job keeping his eyes down field on scrambles and making the last-second throws. He is very elusive with speed and agility, can make the long runs given space. He loves throwing the deep ball after making the defense think he’s keeping it for a run.
