Larson is a field general out there on defense. He takes his read steps and scrapes down the line of scrimmage really well. He moves really quick flowing to the ball and breaks down and makes the tackle. His angles are pretty good when flowing and he shakes blocks well with good hand technique.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="56278" first="Josh" last="Rowse"]</strong>- Pierre TF Riggs
Rowse is a wrecking ball, once he finds the ball, he flies too it and delivers the biggest hit possible. He is extremely physical with that being said, he'll take out the ball carrier, or the blocker, whoever he gets to first. He has very good closing speed and takes the best angle to take down the ball carrier.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="56375" first="Wes" last="Koenig"]</strong>- Brookings
Koenig is an excellent run stopper and blitzing LB. Whether he reads run or is sent on a blitz, he blows throw the line on a bullrush and gets to the ball. He has lots of power and speed when he gets his read, is also good and sniffing out and attacking screens.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="56407" first="Logan" last="Katzer"]</strong>- Canistota-Freeman
Katzer had a good season on the defensive side, he gets quick reads, flows to an open gap and makes the tackle. He takes on blocks well and drives through them well to make the play. He is also good in pass coverage and playing his zone in the middle of the field.
<strong>Dominic Abraham</strong>- Garretson
Abraham was also a good field general, sitting and reading the play, then attacking the ball. He has great speed, getting downhill and exploding through the gaps to hit the ball carrier. He has great form in his tackles, wraps up and drives through the guy, whether he's bigger or smaller than him.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="56301" first="Ryan" last="Wojcik"]</strong>- St. Thomas More
Wojcik was also a good MLB for St. Thomas More, plugging up run gaps and putting pressure on the QB. He gets his reads steps, then also attacks the ball. He has good speed to run plays down from the backside and good form to take them down. He accelerates quick enough to take the back down with a big hit.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="56420" first="John" last="Updike"]</strong>- Douglas
Updike played OLB really well for his size, he played technically sound when making his tackles this year. He seemed to have contain for his responsibility on defense, he held that well and turned everything in, if they didn't turn back, he made the tackle. He had a wrestling type form in his tackle, he had really good balance when he got low and made a lot of two-legged takedowns for his tackles.
