Tampa Bay Tech Can Gain Respect Friday

Tampa Bay Tech has had some impressive teams over the years. Programs that raised the talent bar.
Friday night’s game against 11-0 Valrico Bloomingdale, is one of the biggest games this school has ever played.
With three losses – all close and thrilling games – a victory against another program looking for credibility and this is a place that plenty of Hillsborough County teams have long worked hard to get.
At the same time, Bloomingdale comes into the matchup, outscoring the opposition, 373-131, and in all but two games, pretty much cruised.
HOW THE TITANS GOT TO 8-3
It’s not the eight wins that this program is dwelling on. It’s those three losses – all to playoff teams – and all very close.
Tampa Gaither (34-14), Plant City (43-42) and that three-point loss to unbeaten (11-0) Bloomingdale – a program – the Tampa Bay Tech – has not been over this hump in a long time, and will be hungry again.
The wins this year have come against Lutz Steinbrenner (34-10), Gibsonton East Bay (47-6), the thriller with nearby Armwood (48-47), Wesley Chapel Wiregrass Ranch (48-14), Riverview (75-14) and Bartow (39-14).
In the playoffs, it’s been much of the same – with victories over Plant City Durant (7-3) and Lakeland, last week in convincing fashion, 55-34.
