Coach Kevin Kelley has built a team that has become a national power as well as a state power. The Bruins would defeat a familiar rival in Little Rock Christian in route to another state championship.
Pulaski Academy met up with Little Rock Christian for the third straight year in the 5-A state tile game. Pulaski would use the two-quarterback rotation with Nolen Bruffett and Charlie Fiser to pick apart the Little Rock Christian defense. Between Bruffett and Fiser the Bruins have accounted for 61 touchdowns this season. The two quarterbacks would keep the momentum rolling on Saturday as well.
Meanwhile, as potent as the air attack has been for the Bruins, the same can be said about the ground game. Running back Joe Himon Joe Himon 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Pulaski Academy | 2022 State AR rushed for 23 touchdowns and 1,925 yards on the season. Himon has earned five scholarship offers and he closed out his junior season earning MVP honors in the state championship game. Himon accounted for 203 yards of total offense and helped the Bruins defeat Little Rock Christian 64-27.
Pulaski Academy winning state titles has become normal. The talent at Pulaski Academy continues to impress scouts and observers and is something to keep an eye on. The players will change but the system that Kevin Kelley has put into place there is showcasing the talented players. Himon is going to be a running back to watch over the next few months. He has the talent to for his recruiting to explode over the next few months. The 5-A conference in Arkansas will continue to go through Pulaski Academy. Congratulations to the Bruins on winning another state championship and the rest of the conference should look out next season, the Bruins are only getting stronger.
