The early signing day has passed and for a short day high school football fans got to focus on the positives of high school football instead of the constant delays due to the pandemic.
Despite the fanfare and publicity of the early signing day, there are plenty of great football players who have yet to sign and will do so on the next signing day in February.
Many major programs have slots to fill after the early signing period. Some of them lost out on one of their favorite targets. Some of them swung for the fences and missed and now have multiple roster spots to fill.
Below is a list of football players in the Long Beach area that did not sign on the early signing period. Some of them are verbally committed, some have multiple offers and are still undecided, some are sleepers. The list is in alphabetical order.
Name, High School, Position

<strong>David Bakalar</strong>, Long Beach Poly, LB
He had 38 tackles, eight for a loss, three pass deflections and two forced fumbles last season. Transferred to Poly from St. John Bosco and is one of the more athletic linebackers in the region. Doesn’t have many offers but will garner some attention because he will be more featured in the defense this season.
<strong>Zac Ballard</strong>, Mayfair, LB
Leading tackler for Mayfair last season with over 11 tackles per game. A little undersized at 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, but is a sure-fire tackler and moves well laterally. He has an offer from Willamette.
<a href="https://prepredzone.com/2020/11/prospect-qa-long-beach-wilsons-michael-bruner/">Michael Bruner</a>, Wilson, WR
One of the leading receivers in the Moore League last season with 1,078 yards and 18 touchdowns. One of those guys that would have benefitted greatly from a normal offseason and senior season. He has offers from Lawrence Tech and Lake Erie and has drawn interest from Sacramento State and San Diego.

<strong>Alama Collins</strong>, Wilson, DL
He was the Moore League Defensive Linemen of the Year last season and played well in big games. He doesn’t give up much ground when being double-teamed and has good agility for someone who is close to 300 pounds. He should get some FCS offers if Wilson gets to play this season.

Riley was an All-CIF offensive lineman for St. John Bosco last season. He is smaller at 5-foot-11, 265 pounds but he is very quick and has excellent footwork.
