If there’s one state producing top tight end talent right now, it’s the peach state. The state of Georgia produced multiple Power 5 TE’s in the 2021 class including [player_tooltip player_id="33665" first="Cane" last="Berrong"] (Notre Dame commit), [player_tooltip player_id="33666" first="Miles" last="Campbell"] (Tennessee commit), [player_tooltip player_id="33697" first="Leo" last="Blackburn"] (Georgia Tech), and [player_tooltip player_id="33705" first="Cedric" last="Seabrough"] (N.C State).
The class of 2022 looks to be even better with more Te prospects likely playing at the Power 5 level.
[player_tooltip player_id="33945" first="Oscar" last="Delp"] (West Forsyth)
The big 6-foot-4 220-pounder had an excellent junior season and at one point was the hottest prospect in the country. The uncommitted TE is one of the top playmakers in Georgia and holds offers from Georgia, Michigan, Stanford, Ohio State, Alabama, among others. He has to miss some games this year due to injuries, but in 9 games, Delp caught 40 passes for 730+ yards and 9 TDs. He was West Forsyth’s go-to playmaker on offense and put the team on his back in a big rivalry game against South Forsyth. He checks all the boxes at tight end and can flex out and play receiver in the red-zone. He high points the ball well, he’s a good route runner, and he has excellent hands. Not only is he excellent in the passing game, but he’s a great blocker on the edge as well. Look for him to have another monster season in 2021.

The Notre Dame from Milton didn’t light up the state sheet this year but he did make a major impact on the Milton offense that led the Eagles to an 11-1 record this fall. He’s a great blocker and can dominate in that part of his game, but he’s also a giant weapon in the passing game when given an opportunity. As a junior this fall, Nickel caught 24 passes for 310 yards and two TDs. The 6-foot-4 230-pounder should see more passes thrown his way next year as a senior.
[player_tooltip player_id="33906" first="Bennett" last="Christian"] (Allatoona):
Like Nickel, The Cobb County star didn’t run up a ton of stats during his junior season, but there’s a reason why he’s ranked as one of the top TEs in the South for the 2022 class. Ohio State doesn’t take everyone, and they like Christian enough to add him on their 2022 commit list. As a junior this fall, Christian caught 18 passes for 216 yards and two TDs. He’s one of the bigger TEs in the state at 6-foot-6 235-pounds and is just as good in the run game as he is in the passing game.
[player_tooltip player_id="33875" first="Holden" last="Staes"] (Westminister):
Another big target in the passing game, the 6-foot-4 220-pounder is one of the best in the metro-Atlanta are and is committed to Penn State. Before committing to the Nittany Lions, Staes held offers from Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, among others. The Westminsiter offense struggles all season, but it’s easy to notice Staes who already looks like a Power 5 tight end. He can catch, he can block, and he runs well for his size.
[player_tooltip player_id="33937" first="Marlin" last="Klein"] (Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School)
The three-star tight end and Michigan commitment is one of the more athletic tight ends in the state. He has great size at 6-foot-6 215-pounds and is an excellent option in the passing game due to his size, natural athleticism, and reliable hands. He hasn’t played football very long, but he has the frame and the potential to be a very good player for the Wolverines if he continues to develop and improve over the next few years.
