Today’s contest in the area round of the 6A Texas State Playoffs had a bit of a David and Goliath feel to it, #8 Cedar Hill rolled in at 8-1 and absolutely loaded with talent. The Longhorns have 9 big-time prospects in our Prep Redzone player database and unfortunately for Tyler Legacy, they couldn't match their firepower. Even though Legacy fell to the Longhorns 45-0, there was some great talent to scout on both squads.

Tyler Legacy

[player_tooltip player_id="60782" first="Bryson" last="Donnell"] (2022 RB) Speed and hustle jump off the tape when you watch Donnell. This young man has a great burst and can make big plays happen at a moment’s notice. I am most impressed with how complete he is for a junior, pass block is solid and the hustle is there regardless of the situation.

[player_tooltip player_id="60709" first="Jamarion" last="Miller"], Tyler Legacy (2022 RB, 5’10″/185) Just like his teammate, Miller is also a Junior playmaker. Arm tackles are a joke with Miller and he eats DBs for breakfast, the only thing that stops him is the end zone. Highly recruited for his speed and strength, expect larger programs like Texas, Okie State, or Arkansas to land Miller.

Dion Daniels (2021 OL) Daniels makes life easy for his two star running backs with his great size and violent blocking style. Standing at 6-4/270 lbs, he moves great and has fast hands that allow him to get good leverage on defenders, from there he finishes most blocks with a pancake. Dion recently signed with the Air Force Academy and will play D1 football and serve!

Chris Harris (2021 DL) Harris is strong, versatile, and very athletic for his size. I love defensive lineman that can play inside and on the edge, it allows defensive coordinators so much flexibility. Definitely not a speed rusher, but does create disruptive plays and QB pressures with great explosion and exceptional strength. Harris has offers from Northwestern State University and South Eastern University... so far.

Jamichael Nicholson (2021 DE) Solid defensive end that can play the run and get pressure on the QB. I love how technically sound Nicholson is, he extends his arms and initiates contact with blocks, not allowing them into his body. Sheds blocks with ease and finishes play all over the field for the Red Raisers. He currently has an offer from Oklahoma Panhandle State University.

Cedar Hill

[player_tooltip player_id="60634" first="Javien" last="Clemmer"] (2021 WR) Clemmer is a burner! So much so he tends to force under-thrown balls, but that's not the worse problem to have! He is not just a speed demon, Clemmer has good ball skills and is an excellent cover corner. On early signing day, Clemmer signed with New Mexico State.

[player_tooltip player_id="60338" first="Charles" last="Esters III"] (2021 DE) This 6-3/240 lb DE wrecks the line of scrimmage and is a completely disruptive force for Cedar Hill. Esters is big and strong, but the big man can move great and close ground quickly. Esters signed with Texas Tech on early signing day last week.

[player_tooltip player_id="60655" first="Jaheim" last="Lowe"] (2021 LB) Lowe is a dynamic playmaker for the Cedar Hill defense, he has great vision and a knack for making big plays. Lowe has great closing speed and good instincts, so he always finds himself around the ball. Check out these highlights from his senior year, the colleges are starting to circle this defensive standout... Southern Arkansas University, A&M Commerce, and the University of Arkansas At Monticello to name a few.

[player_tooltip player_id="60668" first="Brett" last="Lynch"] (2021 FS) Lynch covers like a corner but hits like a linebacker, so that's fun for opponents! Love how aggressive he is in coverage, he does not play on his heels at all. This senior playmaker signed with Central Arkansas this past week.

[player_tooltip player_id="60480" first="Carlos" last="Peoples"] (2021 OL) Carlos is a big man with great feet and has a mean streak. I think the treat that stands out most is his ability to block out in space, whether pulling or setting up a screen. Normally being out in the open for an OL is like a fish out of water, but not Carlos, he excels. Peoples signed with New Mexico State. on early signing day.

[player_tooltip player_id="60780" first="Jalon" last="Peoples"] (2022 DB) Jalon is a shutdown type corner, just leave him on an island with the opponents best WR and scheme up everything else. I love how you never see any separation from the opposing WR, I can't even speak to Jalon's closing ability when there is nothing to close. This underclassman is legit, blessed with natural ability and the work ethic to have very sound technical cover skills. Peoples has started receiving multiple offers from big programs, such as Tennessee, Mizzou, Ole Miss, and Colorado.

[player_tooltip player_id="60220" first="Kaidon" last="Salter"] (2021 QB) Salter is one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the state and when you watch his film you see why. I love his big arm, and even though he can burn you with his feet, he is slow to ditch the pass completely. He uses his legs more to elude rushers and extends plays before pushing the ball downfield with his cannon or an arm. Salter signed with the University of Tennessee last week.

[player_tooltip player_id="60345" first="Kevin" last="Young"] (2021 RB) Young has exceptional balance to go along with solid speed and vision. I love his decisiveness hitting the hole and getting north and south, this offense is vertical and dangerous, so young's running style is a perfect fit. Young has offers from Houston Baptist, University of Louisiana Monroe, Lamar University, Southern University, and Georgetown.

[player_tooltip player_id="60583" first="Amarian" last="Williams"] (2021 DB) Cedar Hill is loaded with talent, the fact Williams is the number two DB on this defense is almost not fair. Williams is another very solid cover man but has really disruptive hands that help him on contested catches get pass-breakups. Will not hesitate to support in the run game and lay the wood, this very complete corner signed with Liberty University.
