This was an early signing day like no other. With the Covid recruiting restrictions, many college coaches were weary of signing players that they never had a chance to see in person. This resulted in a number of prospects with scholarship talent not signing during the early signing period. Let’s take a look at some of the top Indiana players that did not sign during the early signing period.

Carson’s name has been mentioned a lot around here recently, and that is with good reason. Steele is one of 5 finalist for our Indiana POY, and he was recently named Indiana’s Mr Football by Indystar. With the abundance of talent that has come out of Center Grove over the years, it may catch some by surprise that he is the first CG player to accomplish that feat. Carson has some opportunities, and it starting to garner some bigger school interest, but he still remains my top uncommitted player from Indiana in the 2021 class.

DL [player_tooltip player_id="38920" first="Larry" last="Harris"]- Lawrence North

Larry is currently listed as a Ball State commit, but I don’t believe he has officially signed his Letter of Intent with Cardinal’s. This can happen for a number of reasons, but one thing is for sure... this kid can play. Harris is a potential Power 5 prospect when it comes to his play on the field. When you turn on the film, you see a big dude that can move. He is explosive off the ball, has a ton of twitch, and has a motor that a lot of guys his size do not have. Whether he ends up at Ball State, or somewhere else, he definitely has a bright future on the football field.

WR [player_tooltip player_id="38941" first="Colton" last="Parker"]- Carmel

Colton is another player that is currently committed, but as of now it appears that he has not made it official with Miami (OH). As a player who earned a number of FBS and FCS offers during his recruitment, there will be plenty of colleges who notice that he is yet to sign, and subsequently try to potentially steal his commitment from Miami (OH). I love his Sr film. He is a twitched up player, with a special knack for setting up defenders, and creating separation to get open. When he isn’t wide open, he shows the impressive ability to make the contested catch with late hands. His skill-set makes him a player that can work out of the slot, and be a serious threat for YAC on underneath routes. The fun thing about watching his film, is that he is just as good at stretching the field. He is a potential home-run threat whenever he goes deep. I don’t know his situation with Miami (OH), but I have a feeling there will be plenty of coaches looking to potentially sign him..

WR [player_tooltip player_id="38926" first="Camden" last="Jordan"]- Cathedral

This one is kind of up for debate, because he is committed to play baseball at Louisville. People don’t realize how hard it is to earn a D1 scholarship in baseball, so that could be hard to pass up, but you never know what could happen if some Power 5 football teams were to extend an offer... Especially if they entice him with the ability to play both sports in college. Camden is in a great place having already committed for baseball, and having multiple D1 offers in football, so not matter what happens with his recruitment... He is in about as good of shape you can be as a HS prospect.

WR [player_tooltip player_id="38924" first="Marcus" last="Hardy"]- Merrilville

Marcus transferred to Merrillville prior to the season, and made his presence felt right away. The big play threat has awesome length, and some speed to go with it. Even while having to share touches with Notre Dame signee, [player_tooltip player_id="38908" first="JoJo" last="Johnson"], he still managed to put up some impressive numbers, highlighted by his 11 TD’s and 27.8 yards per reception. In my opinion he is one of the best uncommitted and unsigned prospects in Indiana right now. Definitely a prospect that coaches will be gathering intel on before the next signing day.
