<span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>TALLAHASSEE – </strong>From the very beginning of Saturday afternoon’s 8A state championship game, Sanford Seminole was in total charge.</span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">In forcing numerous turnovers and coming up with huge play after huge play – on both sides of the ball, the Seminoles (12-0) took home a 38-10 win over Kissimmee Osceola at Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium.</span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>QUICK START FOR THE SEMINOLES</strong></span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-86125" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2020/12/Tallahassee2020-XXXX-13-300x187.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="187" />On the first few drive of the game, the Seminoles showed that they had the talent to keep the pressure on<strong> Sergio Diaz </strong>gave the Seminoles a 3-0 lead at the 8:51 mark of the first quarter on a 26-yarder.</span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">With the Kowboys moving in to score, the Seminoles came up with a huge play – when<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="50039" first="Chad" last="Mascoe"]’s </strong>pass was intercepted by<strong> Johnny Harris, </strong>who brought it back 89 yards for a 9-0 lead at the 4:59 mark of the first quarter.</span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">The Kowboys got on the board when<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="50113" first="Spencer" last="Richards"] </strong>booted a 28-yard field goal to cut the lead to 9-3 with 10:30 left in the first half.</span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">Seminole answered back with a scoring drive of its own when quarterback <strong>Timmy McCain </strong>took off for 16 yards to extend the lead to 17-3 with 6:04 remaining in the first half.</span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">Osceola needed to score – after falling behind by 14 – and they did when Mascoe found<strong> Izaiah Jean-Baptiste </strong>for 29 yards at the 4:15 mark of the first half.</span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">McClain and fellow USF signee<strong> Jimmy Horn </strong>came right back to give the Seminoles at 24-10 advantage with :15 left when they hooked up from 29 yards out.</span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">The Seminoles extended the lead to 31-10 with 4:09 left in the third quarter on a 64-yard run by<strong> Donta Whack.</strong></span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">The Seminoles closed out the when <strong>Andrew McClain </strong>ran it in from 4 yards out with 5:19 left.</span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>DEFENSE PLAYS A HUGE PART</strong></span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">In addition to the outstanding offensive prospects this game had, there were also some game-changers on defense as well.</span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">Osceola boasted<strong> Alvin Lee, [player_tooltip player_id="50113" first="Spencer" last="Richards"], Anthony Famularo, Kaylan Walters, Jeremiah Wilson, Lamont Lee. John Walker </strong>and<strong> Nolin Eaddy.</strong></span>
<h4><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Seminole also had impressive standouts as well. Players such as <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="50283" first="Kameron" last="Moore"], Zion Alce, [player_tooltip player_id="50303" first="Jacari" last="Henderson"], Delvin Ingram, Josh Lyles, Jamez Drummer, Marseille Taylor, Lucas Fonseca </strong>and <strong>Devell Moore Jr.</strong></span></h4>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>OFFENSIVE STARS ALSO SHINE</strong></span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">While the defensive standouts did their thing for the Seminoles and Kowboys, offensive stars also made a difference.</span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">Mascoe finished 16 of 22 for 214 yards and a TD. He was sacked five time.</span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">McClain was 9 of 15 for 169 yards and a TD.</span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">Jean-Baptiste led all Kowboy receivers with five catches for 57 yards. Horn came up with six catches for 74 yards and a score.</span>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Ja’randy Swint </strong>finished with 65 yards rushing for Osceola. Whack (80 yards) and<strong> Rory Thomas (69 </strong>yards) led the way for the Seminoles.</span>
