The annual Indiana Football Coaches Association (IFCA) postseason awards were announced on Monday, starting with the Mr. Football Position Award winners. The players selected for the positional awards are the finalist for the Indiana Mr. Football award. This year’s positional award winners consist of the Hoosier state’s top prospects.
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Avon high’s [player_tooltip player_id="38895" first="Blake" last="Fisher"] earned the honor of being named the state’s best offensive lineman. The mammoth 6’6 330-pound offensive tackle was dubbed a five-star recruit by several media outlets, and his senior season performance lived up to the honor. The Irish are getting a special kid in Fisher, a mauler with great feet and a pass set to stonewall pass rushers. </span>
Three Indiana University recruits al,907so land on the IFCA Mr. Football Position Award list. Bloomington North tight-end [player_tooltip player_id="38909" first="Aaron" last="Steinfeldt"], Valparaiso defensive end [player_tooltip player_id="38900" first="Cooper" last="Jones"], and Lawrence North quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="38897" first="Donaven" last="McCulley"] receive the top nod for their respective position.
Cathedral senior [player_tooltip player_id="38926" first="Camden" last="Jordan"] is a multi-sport college prospect that helped the Irish capture their 13th state championship title. Jordan a wideout for the Irish has elected to play baseball at the University of Louisville holds several FBS football scholarships. Class 4A runner-up Hobart Brickies relied heavily on the play of standout linebacker [player_tooltip player_id="38916" first="Bobby" last="Babcock"]. The Illinois State commit was named the state’s top linebacker. The odds on favorite to walk away with the Mr. Football award is Center Grove running back [player_tooltip player_id="38922" first="Carson" last="Steele"]. The ’War Horse’ as he’s been nicknamed has rushed for 5,907 yards and 82 rushing touchdowns in his career. The workhorse tailback has a couple of FCS offers but could receive a late offer or PWO offer at the FBS level.
Notre Dame threw out a late offer to North Central defensive back [player_tooltip player_id="38905" first="Theran" last="Johnson"]. The All-State performer remains committed to playing at Northwestern. Johnson was a two-way playmaker for the North Central Panthers. Johnson is the best defensive back in the state and the IFCA coaches agree.
A pair of FBS caliber players earn Punter and Kicker top honors. Noblesville high [player_tooltip player_id="38999" first="Grayden" last="Addison"] and Carmel’s Spencer Hanna named respectively. Addison has offers from Butler and Cincinnati and hearing from Kansas, West Virginia, Virginia, and Fordham.
