1. Paulsboro (7-0)
Paulsboro had an incredible mix on both sides of the ball this season. They held opponents under 10 points four times, including two shutouts. Offensively, Bhayshul Tuten rushed for 1,229 yards and 19 touchdowns. With a perfect 7-0 record, Paulsboro finished as the top team in Group 1.
2. Becton (6-0)
Becton finished with one of the most incredible stats of the season. They did not allow a point for the first five games of the season. Marcus Duran and Bobby Colaneri Bobby Colaneri 5'10" | LB Becton | 2022 NJ proved to be leaders on that side of the ball. Becton played games in blowout fashion this season which catapulted them to the top of the rankings.
3. Willingboro (3-2)
Willingboro came into the season expected to be near the top of Group 1 and they did not disappoint. Ah-Shaun Davis Ah-Shaun Davis 6'2" | QB Willingboro | 2021 State NJ showed why he was one of the top rated quarterbacks in the state throughout the season. He was able to lead Willingboro to big wins over teams like Timber Creek and Ramapo.
4. Cedar Grove (7-1)
Cedar Grove was able to remain in the top five of the rankings thanks to victories over Boonton and Caldwell. They were led by Dario Bryant, who threw for 1,850 yards and 25 touchdowns. On the ground, Cedar Grove used a committee. Michael Marinelli, George Slattery, and Tyler Rummel handled a bulk of the work. Cedar Grove will return stars next season which will keep them near the top.
5. Salem (6-1)
Jahki Coates burst onto the scene as a sophomore under center. He took over a leadership role and performed it well. He proved to be a big-game performer that could dominate without turning the ball over. Coates will return for two more years at Salem.
