There were a number of games that took place on Halloween in Saturday’s Week 5 action. A plethora of players and teams had notable performances on the field. Let’s take a look at the winners from the final Saturday of October.
<strong>Kerry Nicholas, Bordentown: </strong>Nicholas ran for 252 yards on 25 carries and scored on runs of 18 and 26 yards, and Bordentown improved to 4-1 behind a 26-13 victory over Princeton on Saturday.
<strong>David Land, Overbrook: </strong>Land ran for three TDs as Overbrook (3-2) blew past Lindenwold, 42-0, on Saturday.
<strong>Cody Young, Steinert: </strong>Young ran for 217 yards on 35 carries and scored on runs of 2, 4 and 8 yards in Steinert’s 29-13 victory over Allentown.
<strong>Justin Townsend, Randolph: </strong>Townsend ran for 113 yards on 11 carries, and Randolph stayed undefeated with a 24-3 victory over Morris Knolls. Townsend also caught a 27-yard pass.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27928" first="Ahmad" last="Ross"], St. Joseph (Hamm.): </strong>Ross finished with 227 rushing yards on 15 carries and scored on runs of 3, 6 and 40 yards, and St. Joseph of Hammonton stormed past Cedar Creek, 49-19. Ross was also a force on the defensive end. St. Joseph has now won four straight.
<strong>Clay Morris, Montclair Kimberley: </strong>Morris scored on a pair of runs and caught a 46-yard touchdown pass in Montclair Kimberley’s 26-7 win over Newark Academy.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="28007" first="Alex" last="Brown"], Mater Dei Prep: </strong>Brown was extremely efficient at quarterback in Mater Dei’s 25-19 victory over No. 19 Rumson-Fair Haven, throwing two touchdowns and completing 9-of-13 throws. Mater Dei capitalized on two interceptions and used a balanced attack to pull out the win.
<strong>Gary Lewis, Delbarton: </strong>Lewis found the end zone three times on runs, and No. 7 Delbarton rolled to a 49-8 win over Hudson Catholic, improving to 5-0 on the season.
<strong>Jahdir Loftland, Donovan Catholic:</strong> Loftland exploded for 224 rushing yards as Donovan Catholic stayed undefeated at 5-0 following a 21-14 victory over Southern.
