The House Award is named for former Nitro High quarterback J.R. House, who set multiple national passing records and is given to the best quarterback in the state for that year. These 5 quarterbacks should be in this conversation and had a great season this year!

Gage has been fantastic throughout the entire year for his squad. He’s shown great leadership throughout his senior year and put up great performances against some of the best teams throughout the state. Gage shows great pocket awareness and has the ability to push the ball down the field and lead his receivers open to make a catch. He’s very elusive with the ball in his hands and shows toughness when having to run the ball. He has great arm strength and accuracy and has solidified himself as arguably the best quarterback in the state this year and has the stats and wins to back it up.

With only being a sophomore the sky is the limit for Trey in the following years to come. In just 5 games played he’s solidified himself as a top quarterback in the state and a future top player in the state for the upcoming years. Trey is one of the most elusive quarterbacks in the state and showed it within his ability to produce great performances in the air and on the ground as well. He shows great arm strength and loves to push the ball down the field and let his receivers make a play. Trey was averaging over 300 yards a game in only 5 games but also showed his ability to run with rushing for a few touchdowns as well. Look for Trey to continue to grow and get better with still having 2 years left in the state.

Grant is another sensational sophomore who is putting the state on notice with his play. Grant has been fantastic this year and still has a great amount of room to grow into his roll as his teams quarterback. He has great arm strength and shows he can make any throw consistently on the field and create opportunities for his receivers to make a play. He also is another guy who’s mobile and isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder and fight for extra yards. He’s a tough player and goes in every week carrying his team and providing a great deal of leadership with his play. Look for Grant to continue to grow and put the state on notice with being one of the best quarterbacks within the state.

Ean has been fantastic this season and providing great stats on the ground and through the air. He’s a very mobile guy and has monster games this year on the ground and through the air. He has good arm strength and shows great accuracy and willingness to put the ball wherever he wants. He can make any throw on the field and shows great mobility and pocket awareness when out of the pocket. Overall he’s a tough player and willing to do whatever is needed to win for his team.

Bryson has been doing it all for Parkersburg this season. He’s been a great leader and player for his team this year and has shown how versatile he can be with the ball in his hands. He can make plays with the ball in his hand anywhere on the field and shows great elusiveness and pocket awareness while dropping back. He shows good accuracy and the ability to just make plays happen for his team no matter what. He’s a tough runner and had a few monster games this year and continues to shine for Parkersburg.
