Today we look at the 5A District 14 area which is loaded with talent from the East Coast area. This district is so loaded with prospects that I had to break it up into a two-part series. Big time players and some under the radar prospects are spotlighted below!
Andrew Burnette- Jensen Beach
6’1 215lbs
Burnett is one of the top running backs on the East Coast. He combines both speed (4.5) and power, he’s had multiple hundred yard games including 193 Yards versus John Carroll two weeks ago. He has really good vision and is a north-south runner that gets up field in a hurry and shows natural hands and can be used in the passing game. He’s also an outstanding defensive player. He could play on either side of the ball the next level. He currently has an offer from Keiser University.

LJ Watkins- Coconut Creek c/o 22
5’8 170lbs
Watkins shows outstanding burst and acceleration, consistently finds the crease and gets up field in a hurry. He’s a back that has shiftiness and ability to hit the homerun. Despite his size he also runs with power and will lower shoulder to fight for extra yards. He helped power his team to a win against MacArthur this past week. He’s in line for a big season.

Nathan Brown- Boynton Beach
5’8 180lbs
Brown is a nice prospect that ran for 490 yards and averaged nine yards a carry for Boynton Beach last season. He’s a scatback that has shiftiness in the open field and reads his blocks extremely well. He’s a three-down back that also is used in the passing game and has nice open-field running ability with quick cuts and burst. He’s a two-way player that also plays on defense and shows a lot of ability in that area as well.

Cory Gonsalves- Suncoast High
5’7 160lbs
Gonsalves is off to a nice start this season. He rushed for 112 yards in the first game against Village Academy. He has a natural low center of gravity that doesn’t give defenders a big target to hit, he has quick feet in the hole, good vision, and reads his blocks well. Despite his size he runs with good power and keeps his legs driving. He’s a nice small school prospect that will garner some interest this season from recruiters.
